Erzsébet Tóth: Losing a mother, it's an unfathomable loss. To lose one's birth mother is to lose the very foundation on which we stand. The mind may not know its loss, but the heart does.
Trivia: This is the second film in which Adrien Brody won the Academy Award for Best Actor for portraying a Holocaust survivor, following The Pianist. His acceptance speech was also the longest in the ceremony's history, clocking in at 5 minutes and 40 seconds.
