Continuity mistake: The location and intensity of Lavinia's purple hair highlights vary throughout the movie. For example, the purple highlights on the right side were far more pronounced (two wide, distinct, vivid lines) when she got home compared to when she first met Ward. Lavinia rode her horse Comet home, so her hair would have been wind-blown and the highlights would not have been likely to be neatly straight down, especially since she has long curly hair. A bright pink light (which looks more purple?) accompanies a (radioactive?) meteorite and whatnot that land on the Gardner's large secluded property and strange things start happening. The family members - Nathan, Theresa, Lavinia, Benny, Jack, and dog Sam (plus squatter Ezra) are affected over time in various ways, some quite creepy.

Ward: What touched this place cannot be quantified or understood by human science. It was just a color out of space. A messenger from realms whose existence stuns the brain and numbs us with the gulfs that it throws open before our frenzied eyes.
