Back to the Future Part II

Trivia: The reason that Marty McFly Jr. was arrested was because of stealing an unsubstantiated amount of money from the Hill Valley Payroll Substation.

Trivia: When Marty discovers that he is in an alternate Hill Valley, there was going to be a scene with him discovering that his sister Linda was a prostitute and his brother Dave a homeless drunk living on the streets. These scenes were scrapped as Wendie Jo Sperber, who played Linda, was pregnant at the time.

Suggested correction: Very unlikely for a family film, and needs to be supported by some evidence such as a published interview with a film principal. This is a ridiculous entry and should be removed.

There was, in fact, a deleted scene in which Marty comes across Dave, who has since become an alcoholic, in the town square. While it is true that Wendie Jo Sperber was pregnant and thus unavailable at the time the film was made, I've never heard of anything scripted about Linda having turned to prostitution.

If you have the DVD or the Blu-Ray, watch the movie with the Trivia Track on. It will confirm that Wendie was originally supposed to appear as her character Linda who had become a prostitute.

Trivia: When the 2015 Marty Jr. is walking across the street and a car stops, almost hitting him, he bangs both hands on the hood and yells, "Hey! I'm walkin' here!"I'm walkin' here!" This is an exact recreation of Dustin Hoffman's scene in 'Midnight Cowboy'.

Trivia: In the newspaper, it says the Cubs sweep in 5. This means the World Series in the future now plays best of 9 instead of 7.

Trivia: When Biff is arrested and holds the newspaper, one of the headlines reads "Queen Diana will visit Washington." Oops.

Trivia: The 2002 DVD release of both this film and of Part III is very misframed, with many elements cropped out of frame or not centered properly. The most obvious example is when Doc demonstrates the adjusting sleeves on Marty's 2015 jacket (the sleeves are cropped out of the frame so that you can't see the effect), but nearly the entire movie is misframed. The disks were later reissued with corrected framing, and all later DVD and Blu-ray editions have correct framing.

Continuity mistake: In the first BTTF movie, when Lorraine and Marty are sitting in the car, Lorraine takes off her coat and then asks Marty why he's so nervous. In this movie, when Marty is crouching down to get past the car, Lorraine looks at 1955 Marty and asks him why he's so nervous without taking off her coat.

Marty: You're not going to believe this. We have to go back to 1955.
Doc: I don't believe it!

Question: Doc Brown strongly believes that nobody should ever find out about their own future. With such a strong conviction, why would Doc tell Marty that his children going to prison is the one event that would ruin the whole McFly family?

Answer: At the end of the first film, Doc says, "what the hell" in response to the letter Marty gave him. So this shows it is not that strong a conviction, especially in the face of definite knowledge about something bad happening. It is also a way for Doc to repay Marty.

MasterOfAll

Answer: Doc advises Marty to not tell him about his future because it may affect his life. It doesn't matter what happens to his kids at all.
