Factual error: Ayla can mimick a horse's whinny, a lion's roar and a bird's song so well that the animals themselves confuse her for the real thing. Ayla would not have the physical ability to produce those sounds, no matter how hard she practiced. A human simply cannot whinny or roar and sound just like the real animal.
Continuity mistake: Jondalar sees his bloody tunic fall from a tree and sink in the river. Then a few pages later he sees his bloody tunic attached to a log in the boat. "It floated for a moment before it got water logged and sank"..."in the bottom of the boat was a leather summer tunic stained dark with blood."
