Best TV factual errors of 1960
Factual error: Goober and the Taylors stop and get gas in Raleigh before heading back to Mayberry. As they are waiting, a Coors Brewing Company truck is seen driving past the service station. Coors Beer was not sold east of the Mississippi River until the mid-1980s.Mozzie-6
Factual error: On the 28th Jan episode, Gary is interviewed by his comanding officer having not shaved. The cap badge he is wearing is of the Royal Army Ordinance corps which were amalgamated in 1993 into the Royal Logistics corps (different cap badge) and the belts worn by the two soldiers behind him are from neither regiment. Also neither the RAOC or The RLC are infantry regiments. Gary is supposed to be in the infantry but he finished his training in Pirbright not Catterick where all the other infantry soldiers are trained.
Factual error: At the end of episode one, Buzz and Tod leave Mississippi in their 1960 Corvette on their way to meet a friend with a shrimp boat. Amazingly enough, by the time they cross the border to Louisiana, the Corvette has become a 1961, yet retains the same license plate number.
