Character mistake: At the end, as Kenneth More and Dana Wynter emerge from the command centre, they are surprised to find that it is 9 AM, not 9 PM. Since all military and naval forces use a 24-hour clock, they would have known that the time was 0900, not 2100.
Character mistake: During the scene when Jesus is being whipped, the devil is walking through the crowd looking at him, in this scene only Jesus should've been able to see him, however look closely and one of the characters in the crowd's eyes can be seen following him.
Character mistake: Immediately before the attack, when the flag is being raised on the flagpole, the young seaman who previously rang the bell steps backwards and trips over the concrete step behind him.
Character mistake: In the scene where the pilots and their wives are barbecuing, a jet flies overhead. One of the pilots says, "Hey look at that" and another says, "Yeah that's the D558 phase II, Scott Crossfield". In fact it is not the D558 phase II. The D558 phase II is the Douglas Skyrocket. Only three Skyrockets were built, in both jet power and rocket power, and they do not have wing air intakes like the jet shown flying by. Only the jet powered Skyrocket had air intakes and they were located on the lower side of the fuselage just above the front landing gear. (00:35:35)
Character mistake: In the courtroom scene set in the 1870s, Morgan Earp responds to a defendant with "Nice and easy my ass." While "ass" was used as slang in the 19th century, the dismissive phrase "my ass" as a sarcastic retort isn't documented until much later, making it sound more like 20th-century speech than something cowboys in a frontier courtroom would say, making this an anachronistic turn of phrase. Character mistake: Richard Thorp is Henry Maudslay, who got killed on the raid. However, at the end of the film, in the mess, he is patted on the shoulder by Stanley Baker. Big error.
