The Goonies (1985)

The Goonies mistake picture

Revealing mistake: At the Astoria Country Club, when Troy first sits down in the stall and opens the magazine, behind him are at least nine columns of small patterned tiles. In his next close-up as he looks around, the wall behind him is completely different. Now there are only six columns of larger unpatterned tiles, with a long vertical gap between the tiles (where the grout should be) - which is the track for the mechanism to lift Troy in the following shots. The Goonies (1985)

Revealing mistake: Just as Mikey opens the front door for Data's entrance, the porch upper rail is seen right outside the doorway, with the chimes hanging from it. The problem here is the long wood plank at the top corner of the porch railing, that has been added to the decorative bracket that's seen in all other shots. (00:08:55)

The Goonies (1985)

The Goonies mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When Brand finds the skeleton key in the dirt, he holds it up as Mouth wipes the dirt off the three holes. It's actually quite funny seeing what is supposed to be Mouth's hands in the close-up, with its female manicured fingernails. (00:55:40)

The Goonies (1985)

Revealing mistake: After dropping the frame and breaking the glass, in the close-up of Chunk's arm removing the map from the frame, the arm is larger and much older looking - note the wrinkled elbow and thin arm/hand, whereas Chunk's elbow has puckers at the joint and he has short and chubby arms/hands. The Goonies (1985)

Revealing mistake: On Inferno's deck, when Data takes a stand against the Fratellis before he shoots the blue suction dart/string, the close-up of his utility belt is the same one seen at the start when he practices on the orange drum. Note the differences in the background and clothing/inventions under the coat. (01:31:50)

Independence Day mistake picture

Revealing mistake: The following take place in F/A-18s. After Jimmy says, "I got you covered, big daddy," there is a close-up of his gloved hand as his thumb presses the launch button. Later, when President Whitmore fires his last missile (with negative impact) there is a close-up as his thumb presses the launch button, and then a minute later there is a close-up of Russell's hand as he presses the launch button (resulting in launch failure). The last two close-ups are the very same shot as shown earlier, only the last two shots are flipped the other way. (00:57:25 - 02:04:00)

Independence Day (1996)

Independence Day mistake picture

Revealing mistake: In the exterior shot of Air Force One and its accompanying jets in the air, just before the shot of David getting nauseous aboard Air Force One, something suddenly comes up along the entire bottom edge of the screen. This is only visible on fullscreen DVD. (01:08:10)

Suggested correction: That is another jet guarding Air Force One.

It's not. In the picture you can see it's the entire width if the screen with another object about 1/4 way across. The item is also a lot closer than any other object.

Independence Day (1996)

Revealing mistake: When Marty is stuck in traffic in his car, trying to get hold of his therapist, there is an overhead shot just before this one showing traffic with a few taxis. This traffic shot is flipped - note the steering wheels on the right side of the cars. This particular shot is shown again, but not flipped, just after the Empire State Building blows up. Independence Day (1996)

Independence Day mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When the huge alien ship settles over the White House there is an exterior wideshot of the grounds. At the bottom of this shot it's funny how there are many tourists - adults and children, just milling around in front of the gate and across the street with a van driving along between the two sides, and not one has any sort of reaction to the alien ship. This real shot of the White House (some shots had smaller-scale models) had the CG ship edited in during post production. (Visible on fullscreen DVD.)

Camp Rock (2008)

Revealing mistake: After Mitchie wakes up at the start, her hand slides across the keyboard keys in the close-up, but that hand is not Demi Lovato's. The older looking hand has protruding veins and the fingernails are long, whereas Mitchie's nails are short and her hands look as young as she does.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When Rocky lifts Frank-N-Furter's body Rocky is barefoot, wearing only the stockings. When Rocky is climbing the RKO tower, carrying his creator, evidently Rocky is wearing a type of thin shoes under his stockings. The stunt double did this as a safety precaution. (01:30:35)

Super Grover

Revealing mistake: Just minutes after Rocky's creation, when he is lifted out of the tank, there is a nice close-up of Rocky's face. The newly created man with the "Charles Atlas seal of approval" has a few silver fillings in his upper right teeth, which are easily visible as he sings, "Over my head and I've got the feeling..."

Super Grover

Revealing mistake: When Rocky climbs the RKO tower, he carries lifeless Frank-N-Furter on his back. In the wideshots facing the stunt doubles' backs, while Rocky has both of his hands on the tower, the very much dead Frank-N-Furter has his right arm firmly around Rocky's neck to hang on.

Revealing mistake: After Frank-N-Furter pulls the lever to immobilize Janet, Brad and Dr. Scott, Janet's feet are positioned close together when Frank-N-Furter shouts, "Planet Schmanet Janet,", but when she screams, "Stop!" her supposedly immovable feet now have a space of about 2 ft. between them. (01:10:50)

Super Grover

Revealing mistake: When Dr. Scott's wheelchair is being pulled by Frank-N-Furter's magnet, just after passing Magenta and Columbia, Dr. Scott soars up the next flight of stairs. Look between the cobwebby banister bars and you'll notice that the 'stairs' are actually a flat surface. (01:01:20)

Revealing mistake: Funny how when Brad and Janet are led to separate rooms, their rooms are identical, right down to the folds in the chair material and missing drapery tassle fringes...

Emergency! (1972)

Snakebite - S3-E6

Revealing mistake: After Gage gets bitten by the rattler, when the driver of Tractor 2 begins ascending the cliff, there is a nice close-up as he passes and this young stuntie is most certainly not the older driver seen in this scene. Not to mention the watchless driver suddenly acquires a black watch and a plastic face shield attached to the helmet.

Face/Off (1997)

Face/Off mistake picture

Revealing mistake: Just as the red speedboat heads toward shore, before it crashes, the white and red truck cranes are on the dock and the white crane arm is angled backwards over the dock. In the shot facing the speedboat, as it explodes, that crane arm is now angled the opposite way, over the water, since it was used in the stunt.

Face/Off (1997)

Face/Off mistake picture

Revealing mistake: At Erehwon, Sean (as Castor Troy) is given steel magnetic boots to wear, for the prison's important security feature. There is a close-up of these heavy duty boots during his 'exercise'. Then, when he is taken to the clinic there is another close-up, and there are a number of changes to the boots style. More importantly, one of the side "bolts" has fallen off, revealing that it was merely glued on the prop boots.

Revealing mistake: On the train to school, when HRH are in their cabin, among the different angles that are presented during this scene are the shots in which the camera either faces the large cabin window or the aisle window, directly opposite it. It is not what is seen that is the problem, it is what we don't see. When the camera faces the large cabin window we should see the scenic reflection of the window opposite it, as the train speeds along (and vice versa the aisle window), but we don't. What we do see reflected is the light colored wall beneath the blacked out window. The camera filming the shots from this angle is positioned at that window and in order not to see the outline of the camera/crew, the window was covered.
