Wayne's World 2 (1993)

Corrected entry: When Wayne and Garth are in England talking to Del Preston, Del tells them that he had the same dream about Jim Morrison that Wayne had. Garth looked amazed and agreed with everything. Yet later in the film, Garth says he doesn't believe Wayne about the dream. He was there when Del said he had the dream too, and he believed it then, why change his mind now?

Padzter

Correction: Garth does not say he doesn't believe Wayne, he just asks Wayne to stop telling everyone about the dream because people are starting to think he's weird.

Wayne's World 2 (1993)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Bobby is showing off his guitar skills in the studio, he is playing with his right hand. In the next shot, you see the guitar strap over Bobby's right shoulder, indicating that he's playing with his left hand. (00:15:55)

Correction: Bobby is just briefly showing off and hasn't put the guitar strap over his head, it's just on his shoulder. We can see from the close up of his hands that the strap attached to the front of the guitar looks to be pointing in the direction of his right shoulder so everything is consistent.

Corrected entry: The electricity from a common light bulb would hardly be enough to shock someone, even if applied directly to Jaw's teeth, especially if the bulb is broken taking away the vacuum with which an electric current could carry most ideally. Besides, Jaw's natural teeth would not be able to conduct the electricity from his metal teeth that well anyway.

Correction: May I suggest that the poster applies the "electricity from a common light bulb" to his teeth if he or she is so sure. The purpose of the vacuum in a bulb is prevent oxygen from coming in contact with the element. With the glass broken, the element would very quickly burn up giving the electrical current nowhere to go except Jaws' teeth. Agreed they would be poor conductors but electrical shocks that close to the brain can be pretty disruptive even at low voltage / current.

Corrected entry: At the end, Shakespeare uses the word "America" to Lady Viola, but the word America wasn't used at the time; it was referred to as the "New World" or "the Colonies."

Leonard Hassen

Correction: The film starts in 1593. Cartographer Martin Waldseemueller named the New World America in 1507.

Corrected entry: During the scene when Melanie shows up on Jake's front porch, his jaw drops when she asks him to sign the divorce papers and he realizes who she is. Are we to believe that she's changed so much that even her husband can't recognize her?

Correction: Jaw dropping doesn't mean non recognition, it is much more likely to be surprise at the request. We have no idea what Melanie looked liked before so we don't know how much she may have changed.

Friends (1994)

Correction: The slides we see consist of a couple of graphics of dinosaurs, one of fossils and one of DNA. These are surely commonplace amongst the audience for Ross' speech and he could have borrowed them from one or more of the many attendees.

Correction: We very clearly see Ross walk towards the refrigerator, then we see him with a milk carton in one hand and closing the door with the other.

Corrected entry: The diagnosis of Charlie's disorder is completely and totally incorrect. Throughout the entire movie, Charlie's diagnosis is called "schizophrenia" along with a number of other symptoms... Merriam-Webster defines schizophrenia as being, "a psychotic disorder characterized by loss of contact with the environment, by noticeable deterioration in the level of functioning in everyday life, and by disintegration of personality expressed as disorder of feeling, thought (as in hallucinations and delusions), and conduct - called also dementia praecox." The actual diagnosis of Charlie's mental illness should be "Dissociative Identity Disorder," or "DID," formerly called, "Multiple Personality Disorder," or "MPD." Schizophrenia and DID are not even vaguely related, so therefore, the doctor completely misdiagnosed him.

Correction: While no doubt technically accurate, most people believe that schizophrenia is when people have split personalities hence the reason we describe some people as schizophrenic when they have very different behaviours from one day to the next. The term may be inaccurate but it is the one in common use.

Along Came Polly (2004)

Corrected entry: When Polly comes back to her house because she had realized that she had left Rodolfo tied to the doorknob she does so on foot. It's really strange that she didn't ask the taxi driver to turn around because she was in a real hurry, as her plane was supposed to leave in 45 minutes. (01:17:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: Strange doesn't make it a mistake. Perhaps there was too much traffic, perhaps the taxi was on a one way street. This is just a character decision and Polly is a little ditsy so her decisions may not make sense to us.

The Italian Job (1969)

Corrected entry: As Charlie is leaving prison, Bridger and his sidekick discuss the fact that Charlie is planning a job in Italy. However at this point, Charlie has not yet seen Beckermann's tape of the plan, and Bridger doesn't know about it until Charlie breaks back in to tell him. (00:05:05)

Correction: Mr Bridger says that Charlie has a job in Italy but that's all. He doesn't say that he knows what the job is. Charlie has had contact with Bekkerman before he gets out of prison otherwise Bekkerman would have no time to get to England for the meeting (which of couse he can't attend because he's dead). Even if it was not made explicitly clear, Charlie would assume that since Bekkerman is Italian, the job is in Italy. The tape is only to explain in more detail.

The Italian Job (1969)

Corrected entry: Why was Professor Simon Peach even necessary? He was supposedly the computer expert but in fact the new computer program was already written to tape before he joined the venture. His contribution was solely to bolt the new tape onto the computer in the traffic center, and he wasn't even sure how to do that.

Correction: The first tape was written for the original plan. The job actually done is a one time gold delivery not the weekly delivery mentioned by Bekkerman so a new programme was needed.

Corrected entry: When Dr. Evil gets hit in the crutch by the meteor model, we hear Goldmember say "Schei*e" (German for s**t), but he is Dutch. The Dutch word for s**t is the same as the English word. No one in Holland would say Schei*e.

Correction: Simply not true, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, many Dutch speak fluent German since it has many similarities with Dutch and they have a common border. Secondly but much more importantly, words like Scheisse and merde (its French equivalent) are regularly used by people from other countries. I used to live in Holland and frequently heard Dutch people using German and the word Scheisse.

Friends (1994)

The One Where Monica Sings - S9-E13

Corrected entry: In the one where Joey gets his eyebrows plucked, after Chandler has plucked his other eyebrow they decide to curl Joey's eyelashes. Chandler puts the eyelash curler toward Joey's eyes and looks, to all intents and purposes, like he is curling Joey's lashes because he stops moving, however, Joey is continuously blinking his eyes. If Chandler actually had put the curlers on Joey's lashes, the continuous blinking would have ripped every lash from that eye.

Kara

Correction: There's no mistake here. Exactly because Joey is so visibly blinking, it's very clear that Chandler is waiting for him to stop before he curls. The curling tool (or whatever it's called) is obviously not close enough to Joeys eyelashes and we are not supposed to believe it is.

Swordfish (2001)

Corrected entry: Jobson's Worm Generator Tool has misspelled algorithm in two places, as "Assembling Crypto Algorhythm" and "Crypto Algorhythm." To the left of the useless graphic, "Create Rogue User Accouts" is also missing an "n." (00:55:50)

Correction: While definitely spelling errors, a lot of these "hacker" tools are written by people whose first language is not English and who are more interested in creating havoc than poetry so this is actually pretty realistic. It's not uncommon to download freeware with exactly these kind of spelling mistakes.

The One With the Sharks - S9-E4

Corrected entry: Phoebe and Ross talk about how Phoebe's never been in a serious relationship before. In season five she dated Gary for some time and they moved in together. When she later moves in with Mike she says she's always wanted to live with a guy but she has.

Correction: Phoebe says three times that she's never been in a *long term* relationship. She doesn't say that she's never been in a *serious* relationship. The relationship with Gary wasn't long term and she only lived with him for one night because he shot a bird the next morning--hardly what we could call living with someone and something she would want to forget.

Armageddon (1998)

Corrected entry: When A.J. and Lev try to escape the fire in the Russian Space Station by climbing into a part of the station which is not heated, frozen drops can be seen. However, there was no gravitation for 18 months. The drops couldn't have formed in that kind of structure.

Correction: Nonsense. Drops are formed by surface tension caused by molecular interaction. Gravity plays no part.

Corrected entry: In the scene where the Porsche is crushed, the driver is seen starting the car with his right hand. As far as I know, Porsches all have their ignition switches on the left-hand side.

Correction: No they don't, some older Porsches have it on the right.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: Besides suiting the movie title it doesn't make any sense that an educated person like a hospital doctor keeps explaining medical details to a Western patient in Japanese, well aware that she doesn't understand a word. Any Japanese who has become a doctor will have pretty good language skills, especially right in Tokyo, as a lot of their work has to be done in that language - don't forget research papers are 95% in English (and I'm not even mentioning researchers, who basically work ONLY in English). So a doctor in Tokyo should be able to explain her situation to Charlotte. Maybe not with the specialised medical terms, but at least clearly enough for her to know what's going on with her foot. (00:59:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: There is nothing wrong or unbelievable about this scene. In the past, in Asia, English was taught by rote with lots of reading and writing and very little speaking. As a result, many of those who "learned" English can read and write but are often poor or lack confidence when speaking. There is no reason why a Japanese doctor would have good English skills and it's not true to say that a lot of their work would be done in English. Anyone who has been to Japan can confirm this, the Japanese go to great lengths to have everything translated into their own language, unlike the rest of Asia. The fact that the doctor explains everything is very Asian, I've had the same thing happen many many times.
