Tommy Boy (1995)

Corrected entry: When Richard and Tommy are driving (when Richard is drunk), Richard starts throwing up and Tommy swerves on the road. When you see the front of the car, pause the movie and the stunt guys are visible.

Correction: Trivia perhaps, but if you have to pause to see it, then it's not a valid mistake.

Tommy Boy (1995)

Correction: Not a movie mistake - it's not beyond belief that he could have requested one from reception.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: When the "Wall of Gaylord" is revealed and everyone heads out to the the lagoon, Greg is left standing and looking at the shrine. On one of the awards his name is noted as "Gaylorck Focker" instead of "Gaylord".

Correction: This would be completely in keeping with his character to have received an award with his name spelled incorrectly.

Independence Day (1996)

Corrected entry: At the end Steven and David are flying out of the mothership and they barely make it out. Hence the spaceships that are following them blow up because they hit the wall. Thats the problem, it's in space. In order to have fire you must have oxygen. In space there is no oxygen. Therefore there could not have been a fire when the ships crashed. (02:20:10)

Correction: The ships themselves have enough oxygen to sustain a fire.

Die Another Day (2002)

Corrected entry: The downward air pressure from a hovercraft is strong enough to set off a land mine.

Correction: Landmines can be triggered by a variety of things including pressure, movement, sound, magnetism and vibration. The ones in the movie are obviously not pressure activated.

Die Another Day (2002)

Corrected entry: The name 'Zao' is Chinese, and since many Koreans have Chinese names, there are definitely some Koreans named Zao. But there is no 'Z' sound in Korean. Therefore 'Zao' should be pronounced 'jo', 'cho', or 'sho' (depending on who's doing the pronouncing).

Correction: Unless the submitter is suggesting that all Koreans have a speech defect, they would be capable of pronouncing Zao in the way it was intended.

tw_stuart

What the submitter may be trying to say is that, in Korean, sounds from the English language that aren't present in Korean are replaced with sounds that are. For example, 'f' changes to 'p' and 'v' changes to 'b', 'z' changes to 'j' or 'ch'. So it is a valid mistake to point out since it would be difficult to pronounce words with sounds you have never used before, especially if there are replacement sounds, which would further limit how much you use those 'foreign' sounds.

Friends (1994)

The One With Ross's Grant - S10-E6

Corrected entry: Monica seems shocked when she sees Gladys, as if she's never seen her before. However, if you carefully examine the flashback scene in Monica's apartment in TOW All The Resolutions, you can see Gladys hanging up in the apartment to the left of the door (from the camera). Therefore, Monica has already had Gladys in her apartment, and therefore would probably not be surprised that Phoebe has it.

Correction: She's shocked because she has seen her before and hoped to never see her again. That's clear from the rest of the story.

Life is Beautiful (1997)

Corrected entry: At Dora's engagement party, when the Ethiopian cake is brought into the room, you see a Nazi doing the "Hail Hitler" sign. What would a Nazi be doing in a Jewish party if Nazis hate Jews so much?

Correction: The country was under Nazi rule at that point, he may have been there to observe or simply to annoy them. They, as Jews, would not have been allowed to prevent him coming.

tw_stuart

Correction: Dora is not Jewish, and neither is her fiance. Therefore it's not a "Jewish party."

Corrected entry: When George 'never was born' it stops snowing. How does George's existence affect the weather?

sdgirl98

Correction: It doesn't but any being powerful enough to create a world where George was never born could easily stop the snow (to add to the effect if nothing else) without having to explain why.

tw_stuart

Correction: Well, also the butterfly effect. A lot of things can affect the weather. Maybe his existence meant there were more particulates of pollution in the air on this specific day.

Ronin (1998)

Corrected entry: In the middle of the film when De Niro and the others are in the car going to get Gregor, De Niro says, "He's at the arena," but Gregor hasn't arrived at the arena yet. (00:59:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: Gregor is in a bar which is right beside the arena, to say that's he's "at the arena" would be understood by most people to include the general area. In addition DeNiro would know that Gregor would want to do the exchange in a public place and would assume that if his phone signal is located near the arena then he is headed there.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: During Westley and Inigo's fight atop The Cliffs of Insanity, the sky behind them is obviously a matte painting because the clouds never move.

Correction: Clouds don't visibly move if there's no wind to move them.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: When the masked man is climbing the rope just before Vizzini cuts it, it's clear that he is being pulled up by another rope or wire. He flies up the rope and is moving up faster and farther than his arms are moving.

Correction: This is deliberate to emphasise his almost superhuman abilities - this is a fairytale after all.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: When George goes back to look for his car after his wish is granted, and the car is gone, if you look closely, there's actually a scratch in the tree that looks like the one his car put there.

Correction: This is certainly not a mistake, another car may have crashed into the tree.

Batman Begins (2005)

Corrected entry: When the train crashes through the ground and then ploughs through the underground car park, it strikes a car, which makes a skidding sound, exactly the same sound as the Batmobile does with its wheels roughly five times larger. A bit unlikely. (01:59:00)

Correction: I don't know how the submitter was able to distinguish the individual skidding noises. Each car's skidding sound pretty much like the other and I heard nothing wrong with this scene.

Batman Begins (2005)

Corrected entry: When Bruce imitates contact with Gordon in his office, he holds a device to the back of Gordon's head, while wearing the gloves used for passing an electric current through Batman's cape to make rigid. Problem is Bruce is only introduced to the gloves for the first time in the next scene by Lucius Fox.

Correction: That whole scene was far too dark to tell what gloves Batman was wearing. He could easily have been wearing similar gloves that were part of the body armour. After all, everything was designed by the Wayne Corporation.

Batman Begins (2005)

Corrected entry: When Bruce enters his party at Wayne Manor, you can hear lots of voices singing "Happy Birthday", but only two people in the following shots are actually singing it. (01:36:25)

Correction: None of the shots show everyone in the room and I saw considerably more than two people singing in each shot.

Corrected entry: When Elliot Ness arrives at Malone's house, when Malone answers the door it appears that Ness has a black eye on his right eye. Yet, when he is inside the black eye seems to have disappeared.

Correction: There's no black eye visible.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: There are phones for children where the numbers are preprogammed by parents so they can't just call anyone. These don't have 12 buttons.

The Untouchables (1987)

Corrected entry: During the scene where a public official visits Elliot Ness in hopes of bribing him, the office is empty. When they enter it is only Elliot Ness, the official and the young cop they recruited. As Elliot kicks out the official, we see Sean Connery sitting within the office on a chair next to the door.

Correction: Nonsense, when the official visits, all four are in the office and Ness asks them to leave. When he realises what is happening, he asks them all back but the camera follows Ness into the room so we don't see Connery enter because he is out of shot.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: In the famous scene on the train station stairs, you can clearly hear two babies crying, in spite of the fact that there is only one baby being carried by the mother.

Correction: Audio problem in a train station, whoever heard of such a thing? The second baby (which I was unable to hear) is an echo due to the high ceiling.
