Corrected entry: Toward the end of the movie Private Ryan tells the soldiers who came to save him that the last time he and his brothers were together was before they went off to boot camp. But in the pan shot of the interior of the farmhouse, you see a picture of all four brothers in their uniforms. (00:32:54)

Correction: The wording is wrong, Ryan describes being with his brothers and tells the soldiers who came to save him that it was the last time he and his brothers were together before they went off to boot camp. They were together at least one time after that as the picture shows but it's reasonable for Ryan to remember the last time they were together before joining the military.

Friends (1994)

The One With The Lesbian Wedding - S2-E11

Corrected entry: In the party after the wedding Rachel's mom comes up to Rachel to talk. Well in one shot Rachel has her drink in her right hand right when her mom starts handing her drink to Rachel. Next shot Rachel has her drink in her left hand and takes her mom's in her right hand even though there's just no time to switch hands between those shots.

Correction: She is holding the glass in her right hand but her left hand is practically touching the glass making it very easy for her to switch hands. Even in slow motion this scene looks OK.

Friends (1994)

Correction: This is Monica, two possibilities are that 1) she had a backup turkey for Thanksgiving and 2) it's in the freezer for Christmas, which is only a month away. Lastly, I've never tried but I see no reason why she would faint in the time shown. I suspect the turkey is not airtight.

Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004)

Corrected entry: Michael Moore interviews Craig Unger and asks: How much money do the Saudis have invested in America, roughly? Unger says, "I've heard figures inside of $860 billion dollars." Later, Moore says, "So I read where like the Saudis have a trillion dollars in our banks of their money." The Saudi Arabian embassy estimates its investment in the United States is $450 billion. An Arab News Editorial dated 22 August 2002 said, "It is reckoned that private Saudi investments abroad amount to $750 billion, of which investments in the US account for 60 percent or $450 billion. Of that, some 35 percent (around $160 billion) is in the US capital market —- equities and bonds. The rest, $290 billion, is mainly in property."

John Pilge

Correction: The mistake is actually in the source that Moore refers to. He doesn't state as fact that the Saudis have one trillion in US banks, he states that he has read this.

U.S. Marshals (1998)

Corrected entry: After the crash when the search is started, Gerard calls for a search of all counties south of the Alexander/Pulaski border. The crash site occurred in Pope county and neither Massac or Pope are mentioned in the search.

Correction: The assumption is that Wesley Snipes is already far enough from the crash site. If they start searching too close, he will have more time to escape.

tw_stuart

Correction: What makes you think they crashed in Pope County? A. There isn't a Pope County in KY, and B. The Sherriff's uniforms show Johnson County, KY which is an actual county in KY but on the wrong side of the state.

U.S. Marshals (1998)

Corrected entry: When in the hospital Tommy Lee Jones asks to see Robert Downey's Glock. While looking at it he removes the full magazine, and replaces it with an empty one. In the next scene when Downey pulls his gun to shoot Jones it just clicks as if empty. What about the round that was still in the chamber? Jones never cleared the chamber in the prior scene.

Correction: There was no round in the chamber for Tommy Lee Jones to clear.

tw_stuart

All law enforcement officers carry a weapon with a round in the chamber - it's proper procedure as they never have time to chamber a round to fire their weapon.

Snag.1

This is evidenced by the fact that Downey pulled the trigger, thinking himself that there was a round in the chamber.

Corrected entry: When the Germans break into the bank, one of them speaks, and the subtitle says, 'Leave one alive to tell the tale.' What the speaker actually said (in German) was, 'kill all but one.' (00:03:25)

Correction: The meanings are identical, good translations have to convey the meaning, not simply convert between languages so I see no mistake.

Ladder 49 (2004)

Corrected entry: When the rookie is talking to the preacher, you can see the preacher's shadow. The whole crew is behind the curtain, you should be able to see their shadows, too.

a river runs through it

Correction: This depends on the position and direction of the light casting the shadow. They've obviously played this trick many times and would know how to make sure only the preacher's shadow is seen.

Corrected entry: In the beginning at the restaurant the waiter who is actually Indy's friend gets shot. You see blood appearing on his clothes but there is no sign of a bullet coming through. (00:07:20)

Correction: The bullet passed through his black jacket so we can't see the hole. The only blood we can see is oozing out from under his jacket on to his white shirt which is why it appears so slowly.

White Chicks (2004)

Corrected entry: When one of the bad guys is pushed into the stacked champagne glasses, you can see that the glasses are glued together in blocks.

RoyT

Correction: True but not a mistake, that's exactly how it's done for large champagne fountains to save time when stacking the glasses and to reduce the risk of collapse.

Corrected entry: When Polly Perkins pulls the lever and all the animals fall into the sea, a considerable proportion of the rocket's mass is lost. From Newton's Laws, assuming a constant force from the engines, the loss of mass means that the acceleration should increase. There's no sign of this.

Correction: After the animals are jettisoned The rocket starts to disintegrate, presumably because the acceleration is too high for it to withstand.

Meet the Fockers (2004)

Corrected entry: Jack (De Niro) is super-suspicious and likely to be aware of all the facts about everything that affects his family, yet he did not know that Greg's mother was a sex therapist. Surely once he knew his daughter was to marry into the Focker family, he would have looked into the family's background.

Mad Ade

Correction: Reasonable point but remember from the first film that he was not even aware of his future son-in-law's real name so he has made mistakes in the past making this one believable. It's also likely that he only checked their background for criminal or political activities which would not necessarily flag up her occupation.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: Go to the scene where Marion and Indy are in Mr. Katanga's boat, in their room. Marion comes in, and takes off the red blanket, and Indy has on his leather jacket and shirt on. Indy still has his jacket on when Marion goes to look at herself in the mirror. Then the shot goes to Indy, looking at his head on the other side of the mirror, leather jacket off. Marion turns the mirror, Indy screams, and she goes over when she sees that Indy is trying to take his shirt off. If he had so much trouble taking his shirt off, how could he have taken off his jacket within a matter of about 2-4 seconds? (01:32:00)

Correction: Leather jackets are heavy, it's easy to let them slide off under their own weight which would hardly take any time at all.

Sideways (2004)

Corrected entry: When Jack meets Maya in the bar, she is seen smoking. California outlawed smoking in public places such as restaurants in 1998.

Correction: The bar has closed (Maya is finished working) so there's nobody to complain about the smoking. Even although smoking in public places is outlawed, it would be naive to assume that it never happens. Characters doing something in contravention of rules is not, in itself, a movie mistake.

Corrected entry: Dr. Conners works the night shift 12am - 8 am. It seems highly unlikely that a boy would be riding a bicycle at that time of day to have an accident. (01:14:00)

moviemogul

Correction: Highly unlikely doesn't make it impossible or even a mistake. I would have thought that an accident at night time was considerably more likely.

Meet the Fockers (2004)

Corrected entry: When Jack is threatening Gay with the truth serum syringe, the content in it varies between shots: when the camera looks at Gay, the syringe is empty; when it looks to Jack, the syringe is full.

Correction: The syringe is full of a clear liquid and Jack has just removed all the air bubbles by squirting a little in the air. This makes it very difficult to know if it's full or not. I saw nothing unusual in this scene.

The Simpsons (1989)

Homer Defined - S3-E5

Corrected entry: 40 seconds pass during the time period when the announcer says there is 1 minute left and 30 seconds left. Also between the announcer saying there is a half-minute left and 15 seconds left, 25 seconds pass. (00:08:10 - 00:09:20)

Yoshi

Correction: It's normal movie practice to show sequentially events which are intended to be in parallel (the alternative is a very ugly split screen). Between the announcements for one minute and 30 seconds left, Homer has a flashback and during the countdown from 30 to 15, we see the TV announcer explaining who will survive and who will not. The time in Homer's reality is correct.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: They're both in front of the TV monitors. We see Smithers from two different angles and he has time to move when Mr Burns is in shot so there's nothing unusual about this scene.
