Currahee - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: At the beginning when they show Meehan explaining that they're not going to jump because of fog, he is using his hands to emphasize the point, when they go back to the same point near the end of the episode, Meehan has his hands behind his back. (00:04:45 - 00:57:20)

Shrek 2 (2004)

Trivia: At the very beginning of the Honeymoon montage, we see Shrek looking directly into the camera and moving it around to get a good shot of him and Fiona in front of the house. The is exactly the same as the opening credits for the late 1980s TV program "The Wonder Years" (1987).

The Mummy (1999)

Question: Evie constantly refers to the 'Bembrige Scholars' - do they actually exist?

Kara

Chosen answer: No, but it sounds a bit like Cambridge or some other old institution. Bembridge actually exists as a village in England, but there is no mention anywhere of any institution or society named "Bembridge Scholars", so it's most likely something that was invented for the sake of the franchise, as they are mentioned in the second movie as well.

Evita (1996)

Question: In a few things I've read, Antonio Bandaras is credited as playing Che Guevara but in the credits of the film he's listed as only 'Che'. Is the character actually meant to be Guevara?

Kara

Chosen answer: Though (very) loosely based on Che Guevara, the character of Che is NOT supposed to be him, as was stated by both Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

Evita (1996)

Question: Does anyone know what Evita actually means?

Kara

Chosen answer: Her real name is Eva, but in Spanish putting "ito" or "ita" on the end of a name makes it sort of a term of endearment. "Evita" literally means "little Eva."

Krista

From Method to Madness - S3-E18

Continuity mistake: When we first see the sign outside the Quahog institute of performing arts, it has a cartoon take on the comedy and tragedy masks in the corners. In the left hand corner is a black mask with big ears and a smile and on the right is a white mask with a frown. Later on, the black mask has the frown and the white mask has the big ears and smile and the 3rd time you see the sign it has changed back again.

Notting Hill (1999)

Continuity mistake: In the scene just before Anna goes into the bookshop with the painting there is an outside shot of the building. In front of the school you can see the woman kneeling down in front of a child but also if you look through the window and door of the shop you can see Will walking in wearing a blue shirt. In the very next scene he is sitting at his desk wearing a pink shirt. (01:39:15)

Encino Man (1992)

Question: This film was called California man in the UK, I'm guessing the reason it was changed was because the UK wouldn't know what Encino man meant, which (in my case) is true. What does Encino man mean?

Kara

Chosen answer: Encino is a city near L.A. in California.

Lisa the Iconoclast - S7-E16

Continuity mistake: When Lisa first discovers Jebadiah's confession, she is holding the fyffe and wearing his racoon hat, the screen fades to black (I'm guessing for the ad break) but when it comes back Lisa is standing in exactly the same position, still reading the confession, still holding the fyffe, but no longer wearing the hat.

The Mummy (1999)

Other mistake: Evie explains that if Imotep was resurrected he'd bring with him the ten plagues of Egypt. This is followed by (in no particular order) a plague of Locusts, Flies, Water running to blood, the sun being eclipsed and a plague of boils. At the plague of boils Jonathan says 'last but not least, my favourite plague - boils and sores'. How does he know this is the last plague? Aren't there supposed to be 5 more? (01:23:10)

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: This may be taking the dialog too literally. It may be foreshadowing, in the sense of "uh, oh, they've got us now" or Jonathan may simply be expressing the fact that he's had enough plagues now and would like it to stop please. By the way, you forgot the fire raining from the sky, so technically Imhotep did six, not five.

Doc

The fact that Evie stated specifically 10 plagues, it makes no sense for Jonathan to say "last" on the 6th one, without considering it a mistake on the parts of writers, actor, or director.

Bishop73

Jonathan doesn't simply say "last", but rather "last but not least" - a statement that is regularly used on things the speaker knows for a fact to be, in fact, not the actual last. Taken as a sarcastic remark it makes perfect sense in the situation.

Doc

I know he said more than just "last", but that was the keyword to point out that the mistake is in fact valid. "Last but not least", weather said sarcastically or not, is never meant to be said about something that is in fact not last. It's always said to indicate the last item is not necessary the least, such as at Christmas when the last gift remains or when the last graduating student is given his or her diploma.

Bishop73

Also it's a possibility that off screen there was death of livestock, lice, raining frogs and death of first born children. Just want to show which we missing and it's obvious why, as in a movie raining frogs or dying livestock isn't all that threatening to the main characters and doesn't look cool. And for the movie showing first born children die is just stupid. And lice, that's just too much like flies.
