Factual error: Why would Columbia University have the "most powerful electron microscope on the eastern seaboard" in the same lab room as it would have the spider lab, which is a biology/genetics study? Electron microscopes are useless for studying DNA. The electron beam turns molecules into sludge. All but the toughest organic samples have to be coated with metal as protection, and you can't do this with DNA.

No comic book discrepancies, please...
Continuity: In the opening scene, we see the bus driving on the right side of the road. When the shot goes to the guy eating the doughnut, look outside the window and the bus is about 2 feet (if that) from the curb. Yet, when we see Peter in the rear view mirror, there are now a lot of cars parked at the curb that we didn't see in the previous shot.
Continuity: When we see Spider-Man protect the armoured car and take out the thieves, we see that Spider-Man throws a robber over his head and the robber hits a wall. The following shot his position has changed lying on the floor.
Continuity: When Spider-Man catches Mary Jane as she falls off the balcony, in the shot from above there are two columns lying on the ground - one on the right as we look at it, a few feet from the red area and parallel to it, and one on the left at an angle. In the shot of them landing, the one closest to the red area has disappeared.
Continuity: When Peter runs into Mary Jane leaving her job at the diner, when she says "some dream, huh?" she wraps her jacket around her and folds her arms. After a brief cut of Peter her jacket's open - she then says "don't tell Harry", wraps her jacket around herself and folds her arms again.
Continuity: At the World Unity Festival, Peter is taking pictures. When he looks up at Harry and M.J. on the balcony, his camera, which has been your average "right handed" camera throughout the film, magically becomes a "left handed" camera. The shot's obviously been reversed - his parting's on the wrong side as well.
Continuity: When Peter Parker is walking behind Mary Jane, just after they both leave for school, and Mary Jane's father is yelling at her on the street, you see the yellow bus approaching behind them, with no car in front of the bus. As the camera angle changes, you see a black convertible pull up to pick up Mary Jane, and it arrives before the bus, even though the car was nowhere to be seen a second prior.
Continuity: When Simmons is talking about the headlines regarding Spider-Man, the pencils in the cup keep changing positions between shots.
Continuity: At the start of the film in the scene with Aunt May and Uncle Ben talking, Uncle Ben picks up a green plate. When he goes to pick it up, there are books, or something, resting by the microwave, which changes position between shots.
Continuity: At the end of the film when we see Norman Osborn offer Peter his hand, if you watch he offers his hand twice.
Continuity: When the part of the balcony where Mary-Jane is starts to break, there's a lamp on it. It vanishes the following shot, then reappears some shots later.
Continuity: When Peter is practising throwing spider webs in his bedroom, his first attempt hits a model rocket and it breaks in many pieces. A few shots later when he finally hits the Dr. Pepper can, as he whips it across the room you can see the rocket back in one piece, just leaning against the wall.
Revealing: When Peter is just getting to the science lab at the beginning right after his friend gets out of his fancy car, if you look at the extras walking behind the two, you will see a BRIGHT red haired girl walking by, going towards the building, but when the camera focuses on Peter the girl is there again, walking the opposite way on the other side of the huge sidewalk. You see her about 5 times going back and forth to the building. The first few times she's alone, then she's walking with another girl.
Continuity: The Green Goblin is impaled by the knives on his glider which are shown after they have punched through him and the brick wall, but there is no blood on them.
Audio problem: When the Green Goblin gases Spidey after crashing through Jameson's office window, you see him fall and hear him almost immediately hitting the ground even though the window is several stories up. I think it is the sound of him falling onto the stunt mat.
Continuity: When Osbourne is talking to Peter at the graduation, the scene keeps changing from him having one hand on Peter's shoulder to both to none. You see this just after Harry sees Mary Jane break up with Flash.
Continuity: In the scene on the street, right after the crook escapes with the wrestling money, Peter is standing watching all the people rush to his uncle Ben - there is a girl wearing a black leather jacket, white shirt and black go-go boots walking with 2 guys. When Peter runs to his uncle, she is behind him. When Peter pushes through the crowd, the girl is already there, to the right of the shot.
Continuity: Near the beginning of the film when we see Peter waking up and reaching for his glasses, in the previous shot he didn't have the blanket on him or over his shoulders, it's in the background on the floor, yet when he reaches for his glasses the blanket is on his shoulders.
Other: There is no way possible that MJ, would have been able to fall from the height that she fell from while being knocked from Spider-Man's, grasp onto the edge of that cable car during the bridge scene It's hard enough to believe that she would be able to withstand the force of being knocked around in circles while holding onto a web much less landing directly onto the edge of a cable car.
Continuity: When Peter is following MJ up the street, there are two cars and a jeep in the background. When Flash picks up MJ and speeds away, Peter runs from in front of the jeep, which was further down the street. Also there is now only one car in front of the jeep, instead of several.
