| Rank | Title | Mistake | |
|---|---|---|---|
The Twilight Saga: New Moon | After Bella awakes from the first nightmare, we see her Romeo and Juliet book on the pillow beside her. When Charlie brings in her presents the book is gone, but then reappears on the pillow between shots.
2012 | The scene of rioting in the UK features a load of police officers running through a crowd. All the officers shown are wearing black tunics and custodian helmets worn with chinstraps. This is obviously old stock footage from a protest in the 80's or early 90's as nowadays, (and especially in 2012) the tunic has not been worn as general wear for well over 15 years, and Brit cops are now better equipped for protests with body armour, NATO helmets, flame retardant overalls, etc.
The Taking of Pelham 123 | After Garber shoots Ryder, he is told by the approaching policemen to "drop your weapon". At which point the camera pans to a shot behind Garber where he is holding the gun in his right hand and proceeds to drop it. Watch the bottom of the screen and you will see Garber catch the falling gun with his left hand.
Star Trek | When Captain Robau enters the bridge of the Kelvin he is wearing his Star Fleet insignia. When he sits in his chair it is missing. It re-appears through all of his subsequent scenes. (Picture)
Inglourious Basterds | Shoshanna kills Zoller, then approaches him and pats a film can, which moves farther away. In the next shot, the can has moved backwards and is close to her ankle again.
Saw III | When Jeff is stuck to the fridge, you can see a cameraman's shadow on his shirt.
Eagle Eye | When they are arguing under the power lines, ARIA makes one of the power lines explode off the power line and kill someone. This is impossible as there is no way to pinpoint a surge of electricity to a single location like that. If anything were to happen at all during a surge a breaker or fuse would blow, however the wires would not snap and fall. Which brings me to the second point: there were no breakers or fuses where they were. Just to make it clear, no, those things holding up the wires on the power poles are just insulators keeping the wires from actually touching the power poles.
2001: A Space Odyssey | When Dave begins to disconnect HAL's circuits, one angle shows him unlock the first, second, then third unit. Just as he's about to remove the key from the third lock, the angle changes and he's pulling the key from the second lock and then goes for the third again. We know this is consecutive time as HAL is pleading with Dave the entire time. (Picture)
Bad Boys II | In the "white power vs. blue power" scene when Mike yells "Marcus!", he fires both his Glocks. But in the following slow-motion shot, the bullet from the gun in his left hand is nowhere to be seen, although you can see he fires them in the same direction. In fact it probably would have hit Marcus, while the bullet from Mike's right-hand gun scrapes him in the bottom-cheek.
Wall Street | A cameraman with a light coloured, short-sleeved shirt is visible (operating a large camera) when Gordon says "Interesting, got a card?" in Bud's first encounter scene. You can see him on the back wall when you look past Gekko - the wall where the door is located but closer to the main window.
For Your Eyes Only | As Columbo is chasing Kristatos up to the helicopter at the end of the film, he grabs his foot twice as they fall up the stairs in continuing shots.
Up | When Carl and Russell first arrive on the plateau they both fall out of the house and barely save it from the edge of the cliff. When they make the decision to walk the house over to Paradise Falls, suddenly Carl has his walker, with no way to have gotten into the house, suspended dozens of feet in the air, to retrieve it.
2010 | In the vast majority of cases, U.S. Astronauts wear the US flag on their left arm. On the rare occasion the flag is on their right arm, the flag is reversed so that the blue field remains toward the front of the person wearing it. The patch on Dr. Chandra's space suit during the launch countdown to leave Jupiter is on his right sleeve but is a left-sleeve patch.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen | In the scene where Galloway parachutes out of a C-17, Major Lennox asks Galloway if he is "familiar with the standard MC-4" parachute as he is helping Galloway don said parachute. The parachute that actually deploys when Galloway pulls the ripcord is not an MC-4, as MC-4 parachutes have rectangular canopies (shown correctly later in the film as the NEST team descends into the desert).
Mirrors | Water counted as something that would give a reflection good enough to let the person in the mirrors come, but the person could not use other things, for example people's eyes or clean knives, when they gave better reflections than water or very close to it. (This is a plot hole because it is never explained.)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs | After the dinosaur kids wrecked the playground, Manny tells Sid, "Whatever they are, take them back" and someone says "What are they?" as well. Later, when Mummy Dinosaur appears, Ellie says, "I thought those guys were extinct!" and one minute later Manny says, "She's a dinosaur!" How could they possibly not see that the kids were dinosaurs if they already knew about dinosaurs in the first place?
A Fistful of Dollars | When the "U.S." soldiers open fire on the Mexican cavalry, they employ a machine gun. The only two rapid-firing weapons in that time period were the Gatling gun, which used a clip or drum of rounds and was fired by turning a crank, or the "Mitrailleuse" volley gun, which required at least two men to operate it, one to load the ammunition blocks, and the other to turn, once again, a crank to fire the weapon. The gun pictured has a single operator and neither a crank, nor any visible cartridge feed.
Tommy Boy | When Paul flies off the hood of the crash test car when it stops, he should have kept going in a straight line. Instead, he flies off to the side at a sharp angle and lands in the seat testing department.
Magnum Force | Motorcycles used by traffic officers throughout the movie are Moto Guzzi V7 850. In the scene on the docks, two officers arrive on Moto Guzzis, but the moment they ride up the narrow ramp, they suddenly ride Triumph Bonnevilles. The two Triumphs are slightly different. Trained eyes can tell that the traffic cop and Callahan use them interchangeably, switching back and forth a few times.
Zombieland | During the opening scenes, just before the "double tap rule" a car hits a zombie in a security guard uniform. The windshield breaks a split second before the zombie hits it.
The Damned United | The commentator says that Derby deposed Leeds as League Champion, but Arsenal held the title before Derby did.
The International | The chase scene (which doesn't last 5 hours) starts when midday prayers are called, but by the end of it you can see the sun is on the horizon.
Punisher: War Zone | In the dinner shootout scene, The Punisher hangs from a chandelier upside down using his legs, and starts shooting people while spinning for about 20 seconds, but there is no apparent force which makes him spin so much in the first place; he doesn't even make a "first turn" with his body in order to start spinning.
The Patriot | In the fight scene between Benjamin and Tavington near the end of the movie, just as Benjamin is about to stab Tavington in the throat, the "blood" on his left sleeve appears to be green. In the next shot (as he turns away) it is a dark red. This was seen on a HD television broadcast.
Knowing | During the class at the beginning, the teacher says, 'Yesterday, the staff selected the winning idea' for the opening contest. It would take a lot longer than 24 hours for them to build the time capsule, the hole in the ground and the lid to cover it.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra | During the underwater battle, one of the pilots for the G.I. Joes' ship gets hit. He is ejected/blown-up (hard to tell), and you can hear him screaming. In reality, you cannot hear anything underwater (except for high pitched noises, etc.), let alone a perfectly made-out scream.
Four Christmases | When Kate enters the room with the cot at Brad's father's house, she unbuttons all three buttons and begins to open her coat. The shot then changes to Brad's face for some time. On the return shot of Kate, she's beginning to unbutton the coat all over again, starting with the first button.
K-911 | When Dooley looks at the photo of himself, Jerry Lee and his wife Tracey, it's obviously a still shot from the first movie, as the angle the picture is taken from was obviously not taken by anyone else as they were the only two in the apartment with Jerry Lee at the time.
Scooby-Doo | Daphne wears three types of boots in the movie: 1) When she is wrestling with the blue costumed guy at the end, when she jumps over the railing to kick him, it goes to a close-up of her foot hitting him and the heel squishes in. (I'm assuming that this was done so as to not hurt the wrestler being hit with her foot. 2) At 1:10:42, she kicks up and she is wearing pink flats. 3) In the rest of the film, she wears normal pink go-go boots with a solid heel.
Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure | Tinker Bell constructs a boat that has a paddle wheel made out of playing cards that are folded in the middle and attached to each other with paper clips. After she crashes the boat, the cards come loose and, as she falls, her head pierces one of the cards. The card no longer has a crease in it.
