Fast & Furious 8 (2017)

Corrected entry: A submarine's propeller is made for propelling it through water, not air. Activating the engine while the submarine is propped up on land will not cause it to move.

throcko

Correction: They got the submarine up there in the first place by a dry dock, Cipher would be sure to hack that as well. I don't know what the point of turning the engine on in the air was, maybe just to verify that it works, but very quickly the engine would overheat with no water coolant.

The Aviator (2004)

Corrected entry: Aircraft speeds in the film are frequently given in miles per hour. Airspeed is always measured in knots, and the aviators would certainly use the correct units when talking to one another.

throcko

Correction: At the time of the movie airspeed was measured in statute miles per hour. Not nautical miles per hour, or knot. General aviation planes did not regularly get ASI's (airspeed indicators) until the mid 70's. Traditionally, acrobatic planes still have ASI's that read in statute miles per hour.

Corner Gas (2004)

All My Ex's - S1-E7

Corrected entry: At the end of the episode when everyone is in the interrogation room, Davis lists the mistakes made during the remodeling: the one-way glass was installed the wrong way, the intercom doesn't work, and the door locks from the wrong side. Oscar then discovers that they are all locked in the room. This is how interrogation room doors are supposed to lock, but judging by Davis' intelligence, he probably doesn't know that. (00:18:40)

throcko

Correction: So what you're saying is Davis is not smart enough to know the lock is supposed to prevent exit from the interrogation room. Which is in fitting with his character, and thus, not a mistake.

rswarrior

Corrected entry: When Abel and his partner are shaking down the white thug, he claims to be 1/7 Cherokee. That figure is biologically impossible. (One can be 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.). (00:12:50)

throcko

Correction: He's just a dumb thug who's pulling a number out of the air; lying to the cops, hoping to get sympathy as a "fellow minority". What he said is supposed to be stupid because the character is supposed to be stupid. That's not a character mistake because it suits the character perfectly.

Eagle Eye (2008)

Corrected entry: At the end of the film, a news voice-over says that there are no named suspects in the attack on the Blair Tunnel. There is no Blair Tunnel in the DC area. (01:48:20)

throcko

Correction: It's not a mistake to have a fictional location within a non-fictional location.

Knever

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie, Barry is going down the stairs to look for the aliens. He is holding a flashlight, but in the next shot his hands are empty.

throcko

Correction: You may be mistaking the lightbeams on the walls and floor as coming from Barry, but it's the aliens. In fact, it's the appearance of the lights on the walls of the stairwell that prompts Barry to investigate downstairs. At no point do you see Barry carrying a flashlight.

JC Fernandez

Corrected entry: Grandpa is wrapped in the hospital sheet from the time the family sneaks him out of the hospital until the funeral home picks him up out of the VW. He would have also been dressed in a hospital gown and wearing an ID bracelet which would have contradicted Richard's story that he died while they were driving.

throcko

Correction: We don't know for certain that he is still wearing a hospital gown and bracelet when the funeral home picks him up. Someone in the family could have thought as far as to remove them and dress him in regular clothes. Or the people at the funeral home failed to notice until they had arrived at their offices. Either way, it is not shown on screen, but entirely possible.

Twotall

Corrected entry: The meteor passes high over Barry and Jenny on a course to land miles away. They set out on foot, and somehow are the first people to reach it. This makes no sense at all. (00:33:40)

throcko

Correction: Sure it makes sense. They were in the middle of nowhere. Chances are they were the only ones who saw it.
