Factual error: The blonde cop is thrown into a hardware store. She then grabs a brand new, shiny chainsaw that was sitting on a cardboard stand-up display. Then, of course, she goes to attack the maniac cop with the weapon. A new chainsaw that was on display wouldn't have gas in it.

Continuity mistake: In the strip club, the serial killer puts the dollar bill in the dancer's g-string twice.
Visible crew/equipment: You can tell when the maniac cop is getting burnt in the prison, that it's a stunt man wearing a protective bag over his head.
Trivia: Director William Lustig reportedly told investors that Robert Davi was the star of the film to get them interested in the movie... before Davi had even been cast. Luckily, Davi subsequently agreed to be in the film.
Trivia: (Spoilers) Despite his prominent billing, Bruce Campbell only appears on-screen in three minutes of new footage before he's killed off.
