Plot hole: Although the Voice of Terror speaks in English and without any kind of accent, no one is able to recognise Sir Evan's voice, not even the members of the council, who have been working with him for several years.
Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror (1942)
Directed by: John Rawlins
Starring: Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Evelyn Ankers, Reginald Denny
Continuity mistake: When Holmes reveals that Sir Evan is the mole, the Nazi gives a big smile and we can see that his entire right cheek is shadowed. In the next shot, there is no shadow on his face and he remains serious. In the next shot, Sir Evan smiles again and the shadow has returned. (00:58:56)
Trivia: Henry Daniell, who plays Sir Anthony Lloyd, played several characters in the Basil Rathbone saga, including Professor Moriarty.
Doctor Watson: ...But Holmes, that's impossible.
Sherlock Holmes: Anything is possible until proven otherwise.
Doctor Watson: Holmes, the girl waiting. What an extraordinary thing.
Sherlock Holmes: Elementary, my dear Watson.
Doctor Watson: No, no, no. It's an amazing deduction. How on earth did you arrive at it?
Sherlock Holmes: Barham told me.
