Suggested correction: He did know it was missing. After Miles sent Felicia to Paris, the wand immediately vanished from his hand. Miles then received a note from Wong saying that they had just returned and owed him one. So Dr. Strange knew that the wand was missing and used magic to find it.

Trivia: When Miles is shrunk by Mysterio, this is a nod back to Amazing Spider-Man issues 66-67, when he shrunk Peter inside a miniature amusement park model.
