Ending / spoiler

(0 votes)

Jeremiah survives his travails & tragedies, becoming a laconic, solitary, Mountain Man. His original mentor compliments him for having so much hair when so many (Indians)are looking for it. The final scene suggest he makes some kind of peace with his arch-enemy Crow Indians.

Guy Holladay

Revealing mistake: Although the film is set during the aftermath of the Mexican War (1848-50), the mountain vistas display some lovely radio towers and fire ranger stations.

Jeremiah Johnson: Canada, maybe. I hear there is land there a man has never seen.

Jeremiah Johnson: I will do that, Del Gue.
