Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the film we see Tom Hanks remove the rug with a moon on it to reveal a trap-door to what could be the final resting place of the Holy Grail. When the rug is lifted the Fleur-de-lis handle of the trap door is visible, but when we cut to a close up so Tom can lift it, it is almost completely obscured by dust and debris which he has to remove with his fingers.
Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou) is actually the last living descendant of Christ, and the man everyone thought was her grandfather actually isn't. The Teacher turns out to be Leigh Teabing (Ian McKellan) and his aide is in on the scheme as well. The aide is poisoned by Teabing and police shoot Silas (Paul Bettany) to death and arrest the bishop (Alfred Molina) after finding out that he used Captain Bezu Fache (Jean Reno) to do his work. Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) discovers that the body of Jesus's wife is actually buried below the double triangle monument by the Louvre shown at the beginning of the movie.
Trivia: The bruise on Silas' temple is in the shape of a cross. The cut on Sophie's neck is in the shape of a chalice.
