Trivia: The film was originally intended to have a theatrical release. However, the studio was still apprehensive due to the poor reception for the prior film ("City of Angels") and allegedly test-screenings with the unfinished early rough-cut of the film went poorly, so it was released direct-to-video after having its post-production budget slashed.

Trivia: At one point, this was going to be Rob Zombie's feature directorial debut, but he dropped out. His storyline was far different than the final film - it was titled "The Crow: 2037" and would take place in a dystopian future.

Revealing mistake: When Alex drops the cigarette lighter to ignite the gas, you can see the flame is started from a different source, as it starts on the other side of the screen, a fair distance away from where the lighter landed.
