Heavenly Creatures

Factual error: When Pauline makes her first entry into her 1953 diary, the date at the top of the page is January 1, Thursday. Later in the film when she begins her diary for 1954, the date on the page is January 1, Thursday. The same date in two consecutive years cannot be the same day of the week, they are a day apart (2 in a leap year). In actual fact, 1 January 1954 was a Friday. (00:24:20 - 01:03:45)

Factual error: In the scene, set in 1952, where Pauline and Juliet sit on a bench during P.E., they're reading 'Biggles of 266' (by Captain Johns). The book however, was published in 1956.

Visible crew/equipment: In art class, Miss Collins says "..and decide who wants to model and who want to draw." After saying this it cuts to a wide shot of the class, and in the windows (right side of the room) you can clearly see, reflected in the window, the whole long pole of the boom mic being slowly lowered. Juliet Hulme: Daddy says the Bible is a load of bunkum.
Pauline Parker: But we're all going to Heaven.
Juliet Hulme: I'm not. I'm going to the Fourth World. It's sort of like Heaven, only better, because there aren't any Christians. It's an absolute paradise of music, art and pure enjoyment.

Trivia: The director of the film, Peter Jackson, has a cameo in the film. He is the bum that Juliet grabs and kisses as the two girls run out of the theater.
