The Fearless Vampire Killers

The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967)

2 corrected entries

Corrected entry: The location of the Krolock family crypt is at odds: In order to reach it, the castle courtyard must be crossed (which is level with the available ground), and the crypt stairs lead downwards. In order to reach the crypt via a chute, the professor and Alfred sneak their way across the castle's roofs and battlements to the chute opening in the top of a structure high above ground; and the chute descends only one or two feet before depositing Alfred (but not the professor, who gets stuck) in the crypt.

Correction: The crypt position is fine. The castle is up on a hill (as any good movie castle would be), with the "chute side" on the edge of a very steep cliff. Going into the courtyard from the entrance it's all level and you reach the crypt, but the other side has battlements since it's by a cliff. When Alfred drops the professor's case you see it tumbling down this cliff.

Corrected entry: The blade of the two-handed sword Alfred uses to ward off the vampires (as he, the professor and Sarah prepare to escape) wobbles.

Correction: Unless someone who is an expert in swords can say otherwise, I don't see this as an error. The sword blade is so long (I'm guessing it's supposed to be a Scottish Claymore) that the wobbles looked natural to me. I doubt such a sword would be useful in combat, but for all we know it was never used by Krolock as anything but a castle decoration and was never used in combat.

Mistakes

The problem with firing a cannon on steam power is to have the boiling water build enough pressure inside the barrel, with no leaks or openings to release it before its time. The professor's scarf and the plug hammered into the fuse hole (which also flies off just before the shot) wouldn't be good enough as pressure restrainers.
