Capa (Cillian Murphy), Cassie (Rose Byrne) and Pinbacker, aboard the payload, approach the sun. Capa and Cassie run away before Pinbacker kills them. Capa activates the payload moments before it reaches the sun's surface and he "touches the sun". On Earth, Capa's sister and her children witness the sun shining again...
