Continuity mistake: When Eric paints his face in the beginning, there are 2 vertical black lines above and below his eyes. The rest of the movie, he doesn't have these lines.

Suggested correction: I just watched the scene. There's only the single line throughout the scene. I believe you may be mistakenly thinking the shadows on his face are more makeup lines. (He has very sharp facial features that create a few harsh shadows in the moody lighting.)
