Continuity mistake: Right at the beginning of the film, Michell walks into the gate of the school. The sun is off to one side and it's later in the day. Instantly, when he's inside the school, the sun is overhead.

The movie doesn't take the events surrounding the setting seriously. It wants to be funny but then it wants to be taken seriously. Its long in the tooth and boring.
