Us is a nightmarish story with elements of home invasion, duplicates, class struggle and questions of identity as a successful man and his family are besieged by murderous doubles called the Tethered who are furious about how they have lived opposite lives of misery and destitution. Solid acting, scary premise, a nod to the 80s and such paranoia movies as Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Thing make this Jordan Peele film worth seeing and remembering! It's effectively creepy! Enjoy.

Continuity mistake: Red is barefoot for a long period in the movie, but when they run to the boat she's wearing barely-visible slippers, presumably to protect her feet while running outside.

Trivia: Near the beginning of the film, Addy's mother mentions that a movie is shooting nearby, an allusion to "The Lost Boys", which actually was partly shot at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz.

Question: Spoiler: The project behind The Tethered (and the rabbits) was said to have been abandoned for generations and the subjects left directionless. How, then, did that still have water, power, etc.?

Erik M.

Answer: The project was abandoned, but they obviously kept the tethered ones alive. This may have been out of some sense of compassion, or because there was a possibility they would be useful in the future.
