Trivia: The film was originally produced by Universal pictures in association with Legendary Pictures with a planned theatrical release date in Summer, 2016. The film was then pushed back to a Fall release, before Universal suddenly opted to pull out of the project. Legendary subsequently sold the rights to Netflix, where it debuted as a Netflix Original Movie.
