In the past, Russian soldiers come upon two bodies in the snow, strangely dressed, as well as a video camera that shouldn't exist then. The soldiers take the bodies into the hidden bunker at the mountain, strip them and hang them up on hooks before quickly leaving and sealing the site. The bodies resemble the creatures seen earlier lurking inside the bunker. A visible tattoo on one of the bodies reveals that they are, in fact, the two surviving American students that had escaped, changed and twitching.
