Factual error: As Eliott walks across the hillside where the concert is taking place, you can see nylon dome and bivouac style tents. Tents made with metal poles and nylons didn't come to market til the 70s. (01:23:05)
Factual error: The large revolver used by Black Dynamite throughout the film appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 629 Classic. The movie is set in the early 1970s, but this gun was not produced until 1990.
Continuity mistake: When Ronnie takes Brandy out to dinner, when she asks him what his medication pills are, he holds them out for her to read, and as the shot changes from him to her, the position he's holding the pills changes from being held upright, to upside down. (00:30:25)
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Buddy is driving Felix to his old friend Charlie, just when the car starts to move, a filming crew of three people and also the camera are visible in the reflection on the car. (00:49:10 - 00:51:15)
Other mistake: When Wes is running from the bad guys he hides in a St Patrick's day parade. No buildings that they pass have any St Patrick's day decorations or give any hint of this holiday, including the Irish bar they go into earlier.
Continuity mistake: When Marshall is colouring in his drawing of the Cheerleader the part of the skirt on his right is coloured in but when we look at it again he is just about to colour it in.
Visible crew/equipment: Near the end of the film, in the parking lot, you can see the boom microphone in the upper left corner of the shot. This happens twice.
Continuity mistake: When Shavoo and Buddy arrive at the storage area, but before they open the cell, they clasp hands. The shot changes, and their hands are now down and no longer clasped.
Continuity mistake: When Maynard is teaching Tony to shoot a gun, Tony fires three shots first. The gun's chamber closes as usual (meaning the gun still has ammo). We see a shot of Maynard, then flick back to Tony and the chamber is now open (meaning the gun is out of ammo). Tony then fires three more shots from an apparently empty magazine before being told to reload. (01:26:40)
Continuity mistake: When Walter steps into the cat poo he gets it right under the middle of the shoe. When he then lifts his foot to take a look it's stuck under the front of the shoe with no sign of poo in the middle. (00:17:30)
Continuity mistake: When Vivian comes out on the porch with a bottle of soda, the level is way under the label. When she goes down the stairs the level is way over the label on the bottle. (00:42:30)
Continuity mistake: When Sugar Bear flies through the air and lands on Truck at the end dance off, Trucks legs bend backwards underneath him. When Sugar Bear gets off of him, he's now flat but his legs are laid straight out instead of bent.
Continuity mistake: Lyn has a patch on his nose and it's loose on one side. In the next scene it's attached tight to his nose again. (01:17:00)
Factual error: Kevin and his buddies go to graduation in Army dress. While the ribbons displayed are hard to identify, several things are sure. They don't have a Washington National Guard ribbon, so they're regulars, and they have no Middle East service ribbons. So just where did they acquire so much fruit salad?
Continuity mistake: After the spittoon cup gets spilled on Samir's shirt, the stain changes and becomes smaller in a later shot.
Continuity mistake: When Billy and Bolger are driving down the road after the funeral, they are on a 2-lane road, with nothing but grass and trees on either side. But when the shot changes so they're facing the camera, it's a 4-lane road with a lot more traffic. Then the road becomes much bigger with a median.
Continuity mistake: When Frida is in her room and throws the stuffed animal near the window, she sees a zombie in the pouring rain across the street. However when her boyfriend startles her in the window, he is dry and the rain and wind instantly stopped.
Character mistake: Near the end of the movie Godfrey says "I'll try to send the birds to the sea," but when he redirects the birds the operator says the birds are going back to the base.
Plot hole: Mr. Cranston asks Denise to be the accompanist for the school's production of "Chicago". This is an error. In the year 2009, in which the film is set, this would be impossible since the licensing company which has the theatrical rights for "Chicago" restricts the show from being produced (even by amateur groups and schools) anywhere in the greater New York area while there is an open-ended production running on Broadway.
Revealing mistake: When the girl is giving the guy a blow job in the school restroom, he finishes in her mouth. She goes to the sink and spits it out. You can obviously tell she had a mouthful of water going by the color and quantity. (00:20:45)
