Character mistake: When Agent Dogget is eating breakfast, he listens to the information in TV news about "the body of 38-year-old Carl Wormus." However, the obituary which Agent Reyes is reading later says that "Carl Wormus was found dead at the age of 45." (00:07:30)
Other mistake: When Mulder and X are standing outside the Mulders' summer house, we hear that it is raining, but there is no sign of rain on neither of them. (00:17:50)
Visible crew/equipment: After Lieutenant Colonel Stans (who has severe burns all over his body) kills Leonard Trimble, he turns to the camera, where his bathrobe is not fully covering the burn mask he is wearing, exposing a part of his shoulder and the edge of the mask. (00:42:35)
Continuity mistake: When Agent Scully is leaving her apartment to meet Agent Doggett and Agent Reyes, her mother is holding William in her hands. Depending on the shot, William's head is turned right or left. (00:21:30)
Continuity mistake: Agent Doggett holds the rubbings in his hands and after a while, he hands them over to Agent Reyes. However, when filmed from behind Doggett, the rubbings are in the same position in both situations. (00:07:45)
Continuity mistake: When Agent Doggett follows Lukesh into the parallel universe trying to find him, Lukesh suddenly reappears from Doggett's left and is pointing at him with the gun held in the left hand, while in the next shot he is aiming at the agent from his right holding the gun in his right hand. (00:03:25)
Revealing mistake: At the very beginning of the episode, we see the reflection of the Moon in a puddle. The Moon looks exactly as we see it in the sky. The problem is that in the puddle we should see the mirror image of the Moon. (00:00:05)
Other mistake: Larina dials 4, 1, and 4, but the voice in the phone says, "This is operator 525." (00:23:25)

Revealing mistake: When Agent Reyes drives up to Agent Dogget's parked car, he looks in his rearview mirror. Its background should be obviously a transparent windshield to which the mirror is fixed. However, when the camera shows the image seen in the rearview mirror, we see in the background something similar in appearance to a solid wall. (00:10:50)
Revealing mistake: When Scully makes a purchase at the grocery store, shortly before she scans the metal fragment, the clerk gives her the total of the sale, however, shortly after the camera captures the register, which displays ‘no sale'. (00:41:30)
Continuity mistake: When Natalie stops kissing Dylan, her lips are covered with blood, but the moment she leaves Dylan's room she has no sign of blood on her lips. (00:32:00)

Continuity mistake: When the doctor leaves the common room, he is holding a chart in his left hand, but when he is running down the corridor, both his hands are free. (00:04:40)

Continuity mistake: When Agent Reyes and Assistant Director Brad Follmer meet in the bar, Brad is holding his glass either by the cup or the stem, depending on the shot. (00:18:20)
Other mistake: Deep Throat says that Mulder and Scully are standing in the very room, where "the first human-alien hybrid was created." However, only in the "Patient X" episode, are we told that it is Cassandra who has just become the first successful human-alien hybrid. (00:28:00)
Visible crew/equipment: At The Beginning of the police car chase, the officer escorting Scully gets into a cruiser. The camera is reflected in the driver side window when he opens the door.
Continuity mistake: When Dr Cabrera says "Let him go," the blonde female assistant is on the left of the male assistant, but in the next shot she is on his right. (00:39:30)
Continuity mistake: When doctors make a cut on Cassandra's belly, the green substance comes out of the cut and pours down directly onto the piece of blue cloth she is covered with. In the next shot the fragment of cloth that was in contact with the substance is dry, but in the following shot, there is a large soaked stain on the piece of cloth. (00:00:50)
Answer: As he stated many times throughout the series, Mulder needed Scully to be sober and skeptical. Whenever Scully's skepticism wavered and she started questioning her own rationality, Mulder would try to restore her sense of skepticism, because he needed her to be clear-thinking.
