Best horror TV mistakes of all time

Hell House - S1-E17

Visible crew/equipment: When Dean, Sam, Ed and Harry have just shot Mordechai, the cameraman's arm is visible on the right-hand side of the screen.

Bad Blood - S5-E12

Visible crew/equipment: I don't know if this is visible in all formats, but on the newest UK release on DVD, watching in widescreen, it's amazingly obvious. When Mulder recovers from the vampire attack, he gets up from the floor and breaks up a chair to make a stake. There is a shot of his feet as he smashes the legs off and bends to pick up a piece. In the bottom left hand corner of the screen, you can see a crew member's hand carefully and quickly placing a piece of wood on top of the pile for Mulder to pick up.

Curtains - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: Near the start, the camera pans out to see the dome now covered in a layer of black. Outside of the dome you can see nice green fields, a small forest area, little houses and everything looks rosy. However a few episodes back the military launched a MOAB (mother of all bombs) and and the surrounding area was wiped out completely.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: 1-13 "Mourning After": The blood Ashe smears on her face changes its pattern and consistency several times as the shots change.

Welcome to the Tombs - S3-E16

Factual error: When Rick has given Andrea his revolver to end her life, he leaves the room with the others to leave Andrea and Michonne alone. The next thing you see is Rick, Tyrese and Daryl waiting outside the room. You hear the gun go off and then you hear a tinkle as a shell casing hits the floor (noticeably "lighter" than the sound the revolver would make when dropped). Revolvers do not eject a shell casing.

Mirror Image - S1-E21

Continuity mistake: When he introduces himself to Millicent inside the train station, Paul is wearing a dripping wet raincoat. It stays wet in the close-ups, but in the next several inter-cut two-shots, it's completely dry.

Jean G

Forward into the Past - S2-E4

Factual error: Nick tells fellow vampire Aristotle, "You still owe me for that time at the Battle of Hastings." Nick was brought across in 1228, or so the intro told us every week. The Battle of Hastings, as any British school kid knows, was fought in 1066, over 100 years before Nick's mortal birth.

Jean G

Heads Of Beef / Klub Katz - S1-E11

Factual error: In "Klub Katz" the captian yells "Iceburg, Iceburg, on the starboard side." But when you see the iceburg and the ship, the iceburg was about to hit the bow of the ship.

Fringe (2008)

And Those We Left Behind - S4-E6

Plot hole: The very ending scene where Peter (in this version died in the ice as a boy so Walter's wife never met him) takes off some of the dust covers then picks up a toy airplane. The toy airplane he got as a child from ... Walter's wife when she was trying to placate him in an earlier episode for trying to run "home". This toy airplane wouldn't have been his as a child in this version of the universe.

juarlita

Clean Kills and Other Trophies - S1-E12

Visible crew/equipment: The boom mic's shadow is visible on the back wall as Archie Dittman. Jr. descends the staircase.

Scott215

Show generally

Audio problem: 1897: Quentin challenges Barnabas by pulling a decorative sword from a wall display and pointing it at his throat. Unfortunately, the display wasn't all that well attached to the set wall. Though the camera pans away, you can hear a loud clunk as the piece falls, followed by the loud crash of shattering glass as it strikes and breaks a table lamp. You can also see the actors struggling very hard to keep straight faces as they continue with their lines.

Jean G

Night Of The Living Dummy II - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: After Slappy's head is smashed off, the position of the broken face on the floor changes.

13

Hex (2004)

The Story Begins - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Cassie is in the headmaster's office, her red pencil case keeps changing position from being held up clutched to her chest with her folder, to being in her lap.

Tanith

14

Haven (2010)

301 - S3-E1

Continuity mistake: Duke is wearing an extra shirt, and his hair is longer then it was, despite continuing the scene from the end of season 2.

Chopper - S1-E15

Revealing mistake: The pre-cut hole in the garage door is visible before and after the motorcycle busts through it.

Scott215

Episode Sixteen - S2-E9

Plot hole: In the bait and switch section, why does anyone involved agree to Leland being Ben's attorney when both victims are relatives of Leland? Neither Ben nor any of the police are in on Cooper's plan, and it seems implausible at best that they would agree to this.

pinkwafer

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When they first bring the girl to the house with the storm and lay her on the bead the there candles next to her. First the tallest one blows out then the middle one blow out then the shot changes and the middle candle blows out again.

Pineapple Chunks - S1-E10

Visible crew/equipment: The boom mike is reflected many times in people's sunglasses, especially Kylie's.

Cold Ground - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: When Sookie is eating Adele's pie, the amount of pie on the fork keeps changing between shots.

Kylantha

Visiting Hours - S5-E9

Factual error: In Oregon and New Jersey, state law requires that a gas station attendant pump the gas. Romero pulls into an Oregon gas station and encounters a nosey person. They are both pumping their own gas.

Moonstone - S1-E24

Continuity mistake: Dr. Brice's name tag is partially tucked under her collar when she's inside the lab. When she walks into the corridor, the tag has shifted position and is outside the collar. Later, back in the lab, the tag keeps changing from over to under her collar repeatedly.

Jean G

Here There Be Monsters - S1-E10

Plot hole: The female police officer has a theory that Johnny was the Strangler in the case the papers claimed he helped solve but this hardly makes sense. If she was researching him as was seen in the episode, surely it would have said something about Johnny being in a coma during the bulk of the murders since the story was about Johnny.

So Close, Yet So Far - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: When Alicia is cleaning up Nick's vomit, she removes her gloves. When the angle changes, she starts removing them again.

How The Elephant Got Its Trunk - S3-E6

Continuity mistake: Papa Lazarou's black/brown and white face is supposed to be his real skin, however it is very different to his photograph.

Dan Moat

Friday Night Bites - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: In the previous episode when Damon and Caroline sleep together Caroline's bra is dark pink, in this one when she wakes up her bra is blue.

I Am Anne Frank: Part 1 - S2-E4

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Lana Winters imagines receiving an award for her expose while in line for her medication, her mic pack is visible as she steps up to accept it. It is not visible in the high angle long shot before she gives her speech.

Foster

Chapter Eight: The Upside Down - S1-E8

Factual error: When Nancy shoots the creature the second time, she fires at least 8 shots from a 6-shot revolver without reloading. And that's assuming she reloaded after firing 3 shots at the creature the first time, even though the situation made it seem unlikely.

Bishop73

Season 2 generally

Factual error: Educated characters, including an eminent scholar, continually translate 'Lupus Dei' as 'Hound of God'. Even someone with the most basic Latin would know it actually means 'Wolf of God'.

Necrothesp

Family Values - S7-E1

Revealing mistake: The eyes of the actor playing Gideon the robot can be seen through the eye slits of the robot mask in some shots.

Scott215

House of the Rising Son - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the episode, as Klaus is watching Hayley sleeping, Hayley changes from sleeping on her side to sleeping upright in closeup.
