Quantum Leap (1989)

Genesis (1) - September 13, 1956 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Al is talking to Sam near the hanger about his options regarding the pilot. When we see Sam and the back of Al's head, there is a significant shadow on Al. It isn't there in the opposite angle. On top of that, since Al is a hologram, shadows shouldn't affect him.

Revealing mistake: When Biff steals the DeLorean and flies off with it, the DeLorean disappears just before it reaches the top of the screen. It appears to just wipe out of frame before it's supposed to. This mistake is visible on the Netflix version.

Quantum Leap (1989)

Trivia: For the theatrical release, Disney cut one of the songs sung by Scrooge's girlfriend Belle. It was known as "When Love is Gone". The reasoning was that Disney felt the song was too emotionally sophisticated, and younger viewers wouldn't understand it. It was included in the VHS release and as an extra on the DVD, however the studio lost the negative and video master. When it came time to remaster the film into 4k, the footage was located. Brian Henson, the film's director, said the song will be reintroduced into the remaster. The song was not included in the Disney+ release of the film.

Audio problem: The ghost of Christmas past says "these are but shadows... they are what they are - do not blame me." Her mouth keeps moving after she stops speaking.

Suggested correction: No, it doesn't. When she finishes this speech at 45:16, there is an immediate cut to Scrooge. We can only see the back of the ghost. Her mouth is not visible.

Peter Harrison

Suggested correction: A mouth can move without speaking, not an audio problem but a puppeteering problem that is not a mistake.

lionhead

A puppeteer problem would still be a mistake.

manthabeat

Maybe for the puppeteer, but in the movie it is no problem because a mouth can move without sound coming out. So what exactly went wrong?

lionhead

But practically speaking people (or puppets) don't just flap their mouth open and closed with no reason. The overwhelming probability is simply that there was a dubbing error or a line was cut and the dialogue didn't fit with the mouth movement.

The mouth opens 1 extra time. That's all.

lionhead

But it's glaring enough to be noticeable. Regardless of how or why it happened, it's a mistake.

manthabeat

In the version on Disney+, there is an immediate cut to Scrooge as the spirit finishes her speech. We only see the back of the spirit's head. Are you seeing something different on other versions?

Peter Harrison

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBDqCFyugW0. I got the scene right here, it's at 1:50. Judge for yourself. I can repeat that part over and over again, but to be honest, sometimes it looks like there is an extra movement. Sometimes I can't see it. Even if it was, muppets move their mouths without speaking all the time.

Continuity mistake: After the train breaks down, the scene apparently takes place in the late afternoon. The sun angle is low in the shots where Del is hauling his trunk across the field. We then see a wide shot and the sun is higher in the sky.

Continuity mistake: Papa Klump drinks Sherman's youth potion and starts to feel the effects from it. He has the vial in his hands and the shot switches angles. The vial is now gone and both of his hands are on the fridge.

Revealing mistake: During the dance number in the airport, Santa grabs a security guard who then starts break dancing. It's obvious this dancer is a stunt double as he's younger and skinnier than the real guard.

Revealing mistake: During the intro to some earlier episodes where Bart leaves the school, the scene pans down and the edge of the animation paper can be seen in a couple spots at the very bottom of the frame. It is blue in color. This error persisted through many seasons.

Game Night (2018)

Revealing mistake: During the scenes with the cast on the bridge, there are clear traffic directing cones and lights visible in the distance, depending on the angle. This was done to prevent people and traffic from getting onto the closed set.

Suggested correction: Incorrect. They make a point of showing that there are "Bridge Closed" and construction signs on the bridge, and you can even see some construction equipment on the bridge itself. The cones and lights are not there to prevent people from getting onto set... they're part of the set dressing, since the bridge is meant to be closed down for construction in the scene. That's why they chose the bridge as a meetup point... there will be nobody to interfere.

Knives Out (2019)

Continuity mistake: When the detective (Benoit) asks Marta to be her "Watson", the wind is blowing hard enough to move their hair. In the reverse shot, it is calm.

Knives Out (2019)

Revealing mistake: The detectives start interviewing Linda and tell her they will be recording it. The detective pulls out a phone, and we see it recording. He starts talking and the waveform is moving but doesn't match when he speaks. If it were accurate we would see a peak when he talks.

Twister (1996)

Continuity mistake: The tornado before the one that destroys the drive-in theater rips power poles out of the ground. When Bill and Jo are arguing, we see a long shot of the road where the tornado was. The power poles are in place as if nothing happened.

Ricochet (1991)

Trivia: The film was produced by Joel Silver, who was the producer of Die Hard. One common cast member between the two films is Mary Ellen Trainor. In both Die Hard and this film, she plays the same character, television reporter Gail Wallens. This indicates this film takes place in the same universe as Die Hard. The man who is interviewed about the hostages in Die Hard is also in this film, and has his own TV show.

Deliberate mistake: Near the beginning, there is a shootout between Nick and Earl and a man is filming it. The version of events on the tape shot by the man and the real version we saw prior are different. Lithgow has an extra line, as does Washington.
