Corrected entry: At the start of the film, as Bob is in the car being driven to the hotel, he is looking at the neon lights and sees a billboard of himself advertising whiskey - except he has not been to the photo shoot for the whiskey ad yet. (00:01:55)

Correction: The movie doesn't say that it's his first shoot for this company. This billboard and the "slogan" remark of the bartender (or someone like that) suggest that he's already the established public figure for this company's ads.

Corrected entry: When Frank Junior is arrested in France, the French police arrive in their cars. At the side of one of their cars it says "Police", even though it's the French police. (01:52:10)

Correction: Police is also a French word, and French police cars do say 'Police'.

Titanic (1997)

Corrected entry: The large diamond necklace that Cal gives rose is called the heart of the ocean. Cal says its name in French; La coeur de la mer, which actually translates to: the heart of the SEA.

Correction: While this is true, the French name is a pun on "coeur de la mer" (heart of the sea/sea's heart) and "coeur de la mère" (mother's heart). English could not reproduce this, and had to find a way to add depth and and mystique to the name. "The heart of the ocean" sounds much more glamourous and poetic than "the heart of the sea". This technique is often used to render names and appellations, and should not be considered as a mistranslation.

Corrected entry: In the first film, when they performed the spell "Windgardium Leviosa" they had to hold up your wand to keep the spell occurring. In this film they only have to say the spell but did not have to hold up their wands. You can tell from the feather levitating in the last film and the cupcake levitating in this film.

sdgirl98

Correction: In the first film, they were learning the spell and how to control it. In the second one, they probably had mastered the whole technique, and didn't need the "added support" of the wand.

Corrected entry: When Jacopo introduces the Count of Monte Cristo for the first time to all the guests, he floats in on a hot-air balloon with a background of fireworks. In the time period in which this movie is portrayed, there was no such technology for fireworks, let alone hot-air balloons.

Correction: Fireworks were invented by the Chinese centuries ago, and the hot-air ballon was invented in 1783 by the Mongolfier brothers (see http://www.anecdotage.com/index.php?aid=6116).

French Kiss (1995)

Corrected entry: The length of the necklace changes when Meg Ryan is wearing it. It starts out being short, then it's longer, then shorter, etc.

Correction: It doesn't, only its position on her neck changes.

Corrected entry: When Elizabeth is talking with Norrington before she falls to the sea, she is wearing two necklaces - a short gold necklace with white pearls, and a long chain with the Aztec medallion. Later, we see only the chain with the Aztec medallion and there is no trace of the other necklace. (00:10:55 - 00:15:40)

Correction: The other necklace was a much more delicate piece than the sturdy chain for the medallion. Considering the height from which Elizabeth fell, chances are it broke when she hit the water.

Seven (1995)

Corrected entry: When the detectives have entered the house, Morgan Freeman reads a handwritten book of which he states there are 2000 with approx. 250 pages each. This would take one person decades to handwrite, not allowing him to sleep, eat etc. let alone murder and plan murders.

Correction: One person can write about 50 pages in 5 hours, which leaves plenty of time to eat, work, sleep, whatever. Let's say that's what he did: it would have taken him 27 years to fill the 2000 notebooks at leisure, which is conceivable if he started writing his "diary" as a teenager. And if he wrote more pages per hour, or for more hours every day, he would have filled those notebooks even faster.

Family Guy (1999)

Correction: The scale goes from 0 to 25 to 50 in 5 pounds increments, which means the arrow points to just under 30 pounds.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock are in the car and stuck in traffic, it appears that it is raining. However, there is no rain falling on the windshields. When both characters get out of the car to run to the RV, they cover their heads, but again no rain is falling and they are not getting wet. (00:55:30)

Correction: A drizzle would not be visible to the camera. Though it feels wet and wreaks havoc on a hairdo, it would take a while before getting clothing significantly wet.

Corrected entry: After Maria has left to go back to the abbey the children ask Captain Von Trapp who their next governess will be - he says they won't have one but will have a new mother (the baroness). A little while later in the film when Maria has returned to be a governess, the captain asks her if she is back to stay, and she says "only until arrangements can be made for a new governess". Surely if the Captain is marrying the Baroness no arrangements would need to be made?

Craig Bryant

Correction: Maria doesn't know that, and the Captain simply doesn't correct her misconception.

Corrected entry: When Doc opens his case full of currency, it's sorted by decades, and Doc explains that it's purpose is to be ready for all monetary situations. He pulls some currency from the stack labeled 1950's and tells Marty to use it to buy some clothes. However, since the year they are in is 1955, there's a chance that he may be giving Marty money dated anywhere from 1956-1959. Wouldn't it have made more sense to take the currency from the stack labeled 1940's instead, thereby not running the risk of drawing attention to themselves with money printed with 'future' dates?

Correction: Doc probably thought about that; his stack of money for the 50s is probably comprised of bills for the 40s, his stack for the 40s of bills from the 30s, and so on.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Dr. Evil is talking to Goldmember in the submarine, Dr. Evil proclaims to not speak 'freaky-deaky' Dutch, yet he is from Brugge, which is in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium. (00:42:08)

Correction: People in Brugge speak Flemish, NOT Dutch, even though they are similar languages.

Timeline (2003)

Corrected entry: When they first went back to the 14th century, they were told if one person presses the medallion, they would all go back. Why is it when the one ex-marine pushed his, only he went back?

Correction: Because he wasn't connected to the others in any way.

Corrected entry: After Linda stands Robbie up at the wedding, his friend says that Robbie has been wanting to get married since the 3rd grade. Then Robbie's sister mentions that that was the year their parents died, which would make Robbie 8 at the time. Later, when attending Julia's engagement party, Robbie tells a guest that his parents died when he was 10, which would be 5th grade.

Lisa 176

Correction: He could have been 8 or 9 in third grade, depending on his birthday. And if he has previously had to re-do first or second grade, he could have been 10 in third grade.

Showtime (2002)

Corrected entry: When Rene Russo goes to look for Robert DeNiro in the restaurant. THe establishment's door has a sign with an "A" rating. Later on in the same scene, as she exits the restaurant, the door has a "C" rating.

Correction: It could have been done intentionally as a side joke, since she went in willing to eat and came out totally digusted.

Corrected entry: When Mercedes wakes up after her night with Edmond her hair is long and messed up. When she gets back to her own house her hair is the style it was the night before.

Correction: It wouldn't have been proper for her to go back home with her hair messed up. She had the time needed to place it back, presumably into what is her usual hairstyle.

Corrected entry: When Megan attempt to leave the boat, she places a small set of batteries simaler to the kind used in home phones next to the stove, When they explode, the entire kitchen bursts into flames. What are these batteries made of, Napalm?

Correction: All batteries have a warning on their packaging stating they should be kept away from heat (or flames, for that matter) because they may explode.
