Corrected entry: After Harry escapes from Filch from the Restricted Section of the library, he is there when Filch comes to Snape and talks about how "that means there's a student out of bed." Snape's eyes light up and they all take off to find the empty bed. Unfortunately, nothing more is made of this, even though Harry then proceeds to stumble upon the Mirror of Erised and stay there for what appears to be a good long time. You'd think that both Snape and Filch would have jumped at the chance to punish a student breaking the rules, especially Harry, once they found his bed empty.

Correction: They don't take off to find the empty bed, but to find the wandering student - slight difference. I doubt that any of the three knows the secret password into Gryffindor or that Professor McGonagall would allow them (particularly the head of Slytherin) in it anyway.

The Simpsons (1989)

The Bart of War - S14-E21

Corrected entry: When Nelson thinks that he sees his father, he cries "you came back from the store." This implies that his father walked out on Nelson and his mother. In several previous episodes, Nelson says that his father is in jail.

Correction: He could have been saying that to reinforce his own reputation as a baddie and to impress the other kids so they wouldn't know the sad (and, to him) shameful truth.

The Simpsons (1989)

A Fish Called Selma - S7-E19

Corrected entry: When Marge is sitting awake in the darkness, Homer says, "Marge could you close your eyes? I'm trying to sleep", because of the brightness of her eyes, gleaming in the dark. There was just darkness where Homer was sleeping, indicating his eyes must have been closed, so how would he have known that Marge's eyes were open?

Correction: You can see light when your eyes are closed. A small but bright light in the dark will be especially bothersome for some people when trying to sleep.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: Nelson is a character with many sides, some of them not as obvious as others. He has his moments of decency and brilliance. Think of when he was dating Lisa, for example.

Memento (2000)

Corrected entry: When Lenny wakes up in Natalie's bedroom, she has a bruise on her face. She then goes to the bathroom to wash herself and when she comes back the bruise isn't there anymore. Shortly after that the bruise is there again.

Correction: The bruise is there all along, on her left cheek. Whenever it looks like it's not there, it's because you're actually seeing her reflection in the mirror - look for the other cheek, and you'll find the bruise.

Stargate (1994)

Corrected entry: For the public execution scene, as Jackson lowers the staff weapon, the lighting is from one way, then in the next shot it is from the opposite direction.

Correction: Jackson's always lighted from the left (his right), which is consistent with the building's shadow.

Stargate (1994)

Corrected entry: When Ra prepares to send the bomb through the Stargate, Jackson and O'Neil disguised as Egyptians enter the building in front of Ra's pyramid ship along with some other Egyptians who proceed to shoot dead some of Ra's workers. During this battle the doorway to the building closes before the others can get in. Now it's a big heavy rock door so presumably it's rather difficult to break down or force open, but just after Ra and his ship get blown up at the end we see Jackson, O'Neil and Sha're standing in the doorway which is now open again. We never see how they get that door open.

Correction: Any number of people could have opened it. Probably most of those who worked for Ra knew how to work the mechanism. There was plenty of time for someone to take the initiative.

Hook (1991)

Corrected entry: When Smee lifts Peter's shirt up to reveal the part where Hook cut him in the past, Peter says, "It's from my appendix." Your appendix is on your right side; this cut was on Peter's left.

Correction: Peter may not have known that, and if he had always been told his scar came from an appendectomy, he would have had no reason to question it.

The Ring (2002)

Corrected entry: The creepy dead girl tells Aidan that the horses keep her up at night. Strange how a girl who we are told numerous times never ever sleeps, and is also dead, and at the bottom of a well not even on the island where the horses used to be, is complaining to some kid about horses keeping her awake nights.

Correction: Samara refers to when she was still alive, living in the attic, where she couldn't sleep because the horses kept her awake.

Amadeus (1984)

Corrected entry: Salieri was actually two years younger than Mozart in real life, not years older than the latter as depicted in the film.

Correction: Salieri was born in 1750, Mozart in 1756.

Corrected entry: Claire has several asthma attacks throughout the film. Each of these are treated by spraying an inhaler in the general direction of her mouth, followed by her breathing in a second or two later. As anyone who has even seen someone use an inhaler (let alone used one themselves) would know, the inhaler outlet needs to be in the mouth with lips around it; you then breath in as you press down the spray.

Correction: As an asthma sufferer myself, I can say this is absolutely false. It depends on which method the prescribing doctor prefers. My doctor taught me the outlet should NEVER be in the mouth: the medication being a corticosteroid, it could lead to a yeast infections in the mouth. The medication should be puffed out about two inches from the mouth (but in its direction), then inhaled, which directs it all to your lungs instead of all around your mouth.

Minority Report (2002)

Corrected entry: After Anderton arrests the jealous husband, there's a newsflash. In this newsflash, people are telling about what would have happened to them if Pre-Crime wasn't there. In this scene there is a girl with blond hair that says "He was gonna rape me". But a little further in the movie, Witwer is asking questions to Anderton at the police office. Witwer asks Anderton why the Pre-Cogs can't see rapes. Then how did the girl know she was going to be raped? Pre-Cogs can't see rapes, but the girl knew she was going to be raped. How is that possible? (00:22:05)

Correction: The vision could have shown her getting raped, then killed.

Amelie (2001)

Corrected entry: After getting the name of the box's owner, Amelie takes the metro. She gets off a train at one platform and goes to another where she sees a blind man with a phonograph player. A shot reveals the name of the station-Abbesses. That particular station has only one metro line serving it. (00:21:15)

Correction: Same line, different direction.

Corrected entry: When it starts raining in the battle, all of the torches are still lit, and it seems to be raining very hard.

Correction: Toches usually are covered in tar or another such matter so the fire doesn't burn the wood directly. It would take a while before rain would put them out.

The Ring (2002)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the boy is watching the video, you can see Samara begin to climb from the well at the end of the tape. When anybody else watches it, in other scenes, the screen goes fuzzy before you see Samara.

Correction: That's the point: every time someone watches the tape, Samara gets stronger. Thus, the tape shows a bit more footage of her.

Sereenie

Correction: The reason being is that we are seeing it from Rachel's perspective. Samara is beginning to emerge from the well because it is showing the progression of Rachel's curse since her son watched the tape a few days after she did. Had she watched it on the final day, it may have shown Samara completely emerging. However, that would spoil the ending.

Ever After (1998)

Corrected entry: The French cannot pronounce the English 'H' sound. Therefore, 'Henry' should be pronounce 'Enry' not 'Henry' as all the characters do.

Correction: The movie's shot in English; there's no reason why everything should be pronounced differently. And if they wanted the movie to look more French, they would have called the prince Henri, and not Henry, and used the proper French pronounciation. Here is not the case.

Sereenie

Corrected entry: At the end of the movie Ed Rooney gets on the school bus full of kids. You'll remember that Ferris got home at 6:00 p.m. Why would there be a school bus full of kids at 6:00 p.m.?

Correction: It's towards the end of the school year; traditionally, most schools have excursions during that period.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Harry is looking at the book titles in the Restricted Section, he quickly pulls off his invisibility cloak. When he does, you'll notice that through the invisibility cloak you can see the book shelf and everything, except for the lantern Harry is holding. The lantern just disappears while he pulling the cloak off.

Correction: The books can be seen because they are outside the cloak. The lamp is invisible for a second because it is inside/along the lined part of the cloak.

Corrected entry: When Harry is 'talking' to the snake at the zoo, he is speaking in English, so viewers can understand it. We know that Harry is a Parselmouth (he can talk to snakes). However, in the 2nd film - Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets - when Harry is confronted with snakes he speaks in Parselmouth - the language we can't understand. Why is it that he is speaking to the snake in English, and not hissing sounds?

Correction: It depends on who's point of view is shown. Harry doesn't know he's using Parseltongue, so we hear him in English, just as he hears the snake. On the other hand, when the other students hear Harry do so, they hear Parseltongue.

Sereenie

Corrected entry: After the Chamber of Secrets, when Harry is in Dumbledore's office, Dumbledore tells Harry to examine the sword carefully. Dumbledore is holding the sword by its handle, so Harry grabs it by the blade. Wouldn't Harry cut himself by doing that?

Correction: Just as with holding a knife by the blade, not necessarily if he is being careful.
