I own this movie on DVD.

Death Race 1 was pretty good, Death Race 2 was a prequel that was a downgrade, but still a decent watch. Not bad but not great.
Death Race 3 on the other hand, is really bad. A significant downgrade to the other two films, this one servers as a sort of narrative bridge of the gap between Death Race 2 (a prequel) to Death Race 1. But largely feels like a completely unnecessary movie with a nonsense plot and just an excuse to bring Luke Goss back one more time as Frankenstein. And the whole plot point of his face being messed up from the wreck at the end of the first movie is almost completely undercut from the start as he's going through surgeries to get his face mostly back the way it was.
but where this movie really suffers is the writing. The characters are terribly written, the plot is near nonsense, and this movie does nothing to really add to this universe or change in any significant way. The twist at the end is stupid, the character payoffs and faked death of several of them doesn't work, and in large part the other characters introduced are just brought on so we can see them die. And mostly in uninspired ways. This movie is the quintessential image that people would think of when bringing up movies like this or Resident Evil franchise... (largely written by the same guy), that it's mindless, dumb action with bad writing and bad characters that you just turn your brain off and go "duuuuur" while vedging out to.
I give Death Race 3, barely a 3.5 out of 10 rating. And so far is the worst of the series. (I have yet to see the original film or it's distant sequel Death Race 2050 but hopefully will soon.)
at least the 4th movie in this timeline picks up a little bit... but not by a lot. If you're gonna watch Death Race, just watch the first one and the second one. Skip 3, and you can probably do without 4 as well.

Mistake Status: I plan to do the Death Race franchise for mistakes at some point. Including all 6 films and even Death Racers from The Asylum as a bonus.

Continuity mistake: There are 16 women that have to compete to the death to become Navigators, it say "vie for 10 spots as Death Race navigators". But as the cars are lining up it says "Eleven drivers will compete over three brutal days". So does that mean 1 of the drivers doesn't have a navigator? (00:21:40 - 00:28:55)

Goldberg: Forget everything you know about racing. Desert-racing isn't about speed, it's about endurance and handling.
Carl Lucas: Hang on, I thought you didn't know shit about this kind of racing?
Goldberg: I don't. It's the first thing that came up on Google.

Question: A voice-over says "Log-on and get inside access on your favourite drivers. For an additional cost, you can tap into the closed circuit camera INSIDE the driver's car", but Carl/Frankenstein has his mask OFF while he's driving & isn't the audience meant to be kept in the dark about who Frankenstein actually is? He's meant to be the most popular character/racer, so everyone would then know his true identity.

Chosen answer: The camera being inside the car could be pointed out the windshield so you can see what the driver sees. It doesn't have to be pointed at the drivers.
