Continuity mistake: The scene where they are looking for Ryan's dog tag. Doc comments they are laughing in front of all the guys walking by. One of the soldiers looks like Sal Mineo. Frustrated, Tom Hanks walks into the line of soldiers and civilians and starts asking if anybody has seen or knows James Ryan. The same Sal Mineo lookalike walks by him again. (01:15:10)
Continuity mistake: When that one captain is refusing to obey the orders of Nick Nolte he says the time is 13:21 but his watch says it's actually 14:31. Then a couple of seconds later the time is 14:45. Their whole conversation was shown and there was no time in between and it was much shorter than 15 minutes. (01:03:00)
Continuity mistake: During the ambush at the waterhole, the Arabs steal the Legionnaires' supplies by leading away the donkeys upon which the supplies were mounted. Why didn't the Legionnaires shoot the donkeys? Without them to carry the supplies the Arabs wouldn't have been able to take all before they withdrew.
