Show season: Whole show  1  All

The Young Lords (series 1, episode 11)

Mistake Revealing: In the opening scene, the canopy of Starbuck's viper is not fully lowered while in space flight, leaving a wide gap under its starboard side that would have allowed his air supply to be instantly sucked out into the vacuum of space.

Mistake Continuity: When Boomer tells Starbuck to check his scanner, it shows three Cylon ships approaching. In the next shot, four Cylon ships attack, not three.

The Living Legend (1) (series 1, episode 12)

Mistake Continuity: After Cain leaves the planning session for the attack on the Cylon convoy, Apollo walks toward Adama. In the background is a metal wall unit. At the far right side, halfway down are four small compartments with handles that are all properly folded flush. When the shot cuts to a close-up of Tigh, the second compartment's handle is not stowed.

The Living Legend (2) (series 1, episode 13)

Mistake Plot hole: The "drop team" parachutes into Gamoray under cover of night, wearing all black to conceal their approach, yet their parachutes have an enormous rainbow stripe pattern. Not exactly stealthy.

Fire in Space (series 1, episode 14)

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": When the Vipers make visual contact with the attacking Cylons, an exterior shot shows a large group of Cylon fighters from the front/right as they drop into view and move left to right. The rearmost ship on the left is a gold color while the rest are the usual gray. This odd effect is also seen in the first episode's first battle as well as during the last episode's last battle- an odd coincidence. The original concept for the show was to have these gold ships be the squandron leader, but showing it every week would be too expensive, so that idea was dumped and the one shot with it got used a few times without explanation.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": When the Cylon ship rams the landing bay and explodes, the many quick-cut fiery destruction shots are lifted from a classic World War II film (possibly "The Guns of Navarone"). Note the stone walls (and the tanker truck just left of center in the second such shot).

War of the Gods (1) (series 1, episode 15)

Mistake Continuity: When three Vipers land on a planet, the pilots emerge and discuss how odd everything looks in the strange lighting of this world. The colors of these shots have been altered so that grass and other green plants look red, and the red stripes of the Vipers look a yellowish green. Naturally, this has made the pilots look a bit odd, too. But when the scene changes to an area devoid of living plants, the colors return to normal Earth-like hues- as if this world's sun has suddenly changed its attributes.

Mistake Continuity: When Apollo speaks with Adama, close-ups show the left side of Apollo's face is mostly shadowed while the right is well lit. In the wider shots, the left side is very well lit.

The Man with Nine Lives (series 1, episode 17)

Mistake Revealing: When one of the Nomen throws his "boles" at a support column, it is obvious in the side shot that the actor never really lets them go, but just turns his hand to block sight of them as his hand drops. The glow can be seen traveling downward, despite the next shot showing the lighted weapon traveling forward.

Baltar's Escape (series 1, episode 21)

Mistake Continuity: When Adama exits the cell, the shot from inside shows the guard's right arm is down at his side. When the shot changes to a view from outside the cell, the guard's arm is raised with his hand working the cell door control.

Take the Celestra (series 1, episode 23)

Mistake Continuity: When Starbuck and Apollo discuss going to see Aurora, the wide side shot shows Starbuck's hair hangs down to the corner of his right eye. But shots showing Starbuck from the front show his hair at least an inch above his eye.

Mistake Continuity: The exterior shots of Commander Kronus' shuttle show that all its side windows are transparent, like all Galactica shuttles. But the interior views show that its second starboard-side window is actually an opaque gray panel, not transparent as seen from outside. This is because the exterior shot is of a Galactica shuttle (no model was built to represent Kronus' shuttle). Also note the impossibly high interior ceiling at the very front, compared to the exterior shape.

Mistake Factual error: When Apollo changes course, he pulls back on the joystick and the interior shot shows the shuttle seems to raise its nose. But the stars outside the window also tilt, meaning the shuttle hasn't tilted- the camera has.

Mistake Continuity: As the shuttle approaches the Celestra, Apollo is told he is crazy to try and land in the dark. The view forward shows the landing bay of Celestra is pitch black in darkness. Seconds later, another shot shows the landing bay is now bathed in blue light. Once landed and aboard, they exit the shuttle into the very-well-lit landing bay. But nobody has ever turned any lights on.

Mistake Continuity: When the Celestra's joystick is hit by laser fire, it tips to the right and the ship lurches off course. An exterior shot shows the landing bay is pitch dark. When the ship is forced back on course, the next exterior shot shows the bay is very well lit.

The Hand of God (series 1, episode 24)

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": When Apollo lands the Cylon fighter aboard Galactica, the view forward from behind he and Starbuck is a reuse of the same shot from the prior episode when they landed a shuttle aboard Celestra. Note the headphones they wear, then don't wear in the very next shot.
