In order to extinguish an enormous fire aboard the Galactica, multiple explosives are placed on the exterior hull that are then detonated, opening the ship's interior to the vacuum of space and thus suffocating the flames instantly. Continuity: When Apollo speaks with Adama, close-ups show the left side of Apollo's face is mostly shadowed while the right is well lit. In the wider shots, the left side is very well lit.
