Father Dougal: Ahh, let's see, I'll have the Hindu curry, steak and chips, and a glass of coke, thanks.

Policeman: Do you know where you are? You're in a police station.

Father Dougal: Oh right. Well, in that case, I'll just have the Satay Chicken.

Trivia

In the scene where Mrs. Doyle is telling Ted about the profanity in the book, several of the swears were not in the original script but were introduced by Pauline McLynn during filming. You can see Dermot Morgan trying not to laugh at her last line "Ride me sideways", which he hadn't been expecting. See more...

Good Luck, Father Ted (season 1, episode 1)

Mistake Continuity: When Terry MacNamee is talking to Father Ted on the phone on the island, his tie is blown over his shoulder. After a cut to Father Ted, his tie is hanging straight. After another cut, it is back over his shoulder again.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: In the fortune-teller's tent, just as Ted chooses his second card, the boom mic enters the frame above Dougal's head.

Mistake Continuity: Immediately before Ted and Dougal enter the fortune teller's tent, there is a scene which appears to have been shot much later in the day than those on either side - it's almost night time.
