Bodyswap - S3-E4

Other mistake: When the group are discussing if they can override the Auto Destruct, the computer voice says 8 minutes 20 seconds until detonation. About 20 seconds after saying this, the computer voice then says 8 minutes 10 seconds until detonation. (00:02:35)

Bodyswap - S3-E4

Other mistake: When Lister (in Rimmer's body) pleads the Cat to lend him his body, he says "how else can I pilot White Midget?" In the next scene, the Blue Midget is being piloted, and White Midget was originally abandoned for Starbug. (This mistake was admitted by the crew). (00:21:45)

Camille - S4-E1

Other mistake: When Kryten and Camille are having dinner, Camille puts her "hand" in the soup and begins slurping it up. The level of soup remains the same and doesn't lower despite being slurped. (00:22:25)

Psirens - S6-E1

Other mistake: Kryten places Rimmer's light bee on the floor, then begins the process of reinitialising him. As the process finishes and Rimmer looks at Lister (who looks away), the light bee, which should be hovering within his torso projecting his image, is still visible on the floor between his feet. (00:06:00)

Tailkinker

Legion - S6-E2

Other mistake: When Legion stabs his left hand, everyone grabs and shakes their left hands - except Lister, who grabs and shakes his RIGHT hand. (00:22:40)

Cassandra - S8-E4

Other mistake: Cassandra says that all the canaries will be dead in 1 hour, with the exception of Rimmer, Kryten, Lister, Cat and Kochanski. However, Kill Crazy was still knocked out in the transport vehicle and presumably would have survived too.

Suggested correction: But Cassandra was known to lie if it suited her purpose, she said that Lister would harpoon Arnold through the head and kill him but that's not what really happened either.

Yes, Cassandra lied about Lister shooting Arnold through the head with a harpoon, but that was an attempt to stop Lister from killing her. Mentioning which of the canaries will survive had no impact on any of her plans, so not mentioning Kill Crazy survived is still incorrect on her behalf.

Suggested correction: When setting up the computer, there is an option for frame size. Kryten chooses close up, and when Pree appears on-screen Rimmer reacts to the fact that her breasts aren't visible whilst Kryten says that he likes that frame size. Presumably, there were other frame sizes available that would reveal more of Pree's body, giving meaning to the option.

M-Corp - S12-E5

Other mistake: When Cat picks up the can of Leopard lager which is invisible to Lister, he shakes it, pops the cap and sprays Lister with foam. The foam is visible but the can remains invisible, and that makes no sense. If we are seeing the scene from Cat's point of view the can and foam should both be visible, and if it is from Lister's then neither should be.

Timeslides - S3-E5

Factual error: The writer's understanding of the history of Nazism and its leaders is a bit shonky. Claus von Stauffenberg did not plant a bomb in Hitler's briefcase - he put it in his own briefcase which he planted in a meeting room next to Hitler (some berk moved it). This was in July 1944, while the last Nuremberg rally - which Lister visits, bringing back the briefcase - was in 1938. Stauffenberg didn't even join the anti-Hitler conspiracy until 1943. Red Dwarf is not an 'alternate history' - they correctly identify elements of the Stauffenberg plot and the Nazi regime, they just get them wrong.

Meltdown - S4-E6

Trivia: "Meltdown" was originally planned to be the first episode of Series IV of Red Dwarf. However, the militaristic tone of this episode - and in particular Dave Lister's strident anti-war speech near The End of the episode - meant it fell foul of the BBC censors. The original planned transmission date (Feb 14 1991) coincided with the outbreak of "Operation Desert Storm" - the Gulf War...and the BBC felt that an "anti-war" episode of Red Dwarf would be inappropriate for a country at war with Iraq.

More trivia for Red Dwarf

Answer: Presumably he does, but it's never been used in any material related to the show. He is the only Cat left (as shown in Series 1), so even if he had once had a name, nobody would know it.

Moose

Answer: In the book, the Cat finds the concept of a name confusing, as he's convinced he's the center of the universe and the idea that someone wouldn't know who he was is baffling.
