Continuity mistake: When Monica says, "I just recently got out of a serious relationship," she is holding her glass in her left hand. The camera cuts to Pete and the glass is now in her right hand. It then switches back to her left hand in the next wide shot.

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Chandler confronts Janice about Joey seeing her kissing her ex-husband, Janice begins to hyperventilate. However, right before Chandler gives her the paper bag, Janice spins around and places the receipt in her mouth. Conveniently, after she begins breathing into the bag, she "chokes" on a receipt. Continuity mistake: In the coffee house when Rachel is talking to Ross about trust, a couple comes in behind her and stands at the bar. In the next shot of Rachel they have switched positions; then they are gone, and you never see them walk past Chandler. (00:19:05)

Continuity mistake: During the dinner scene with the diplomat and translator, the men's glasses move closer, then further apart, and then closer together again. (00:14:20)

Plot hole: In the beginning the Friends enter Central Perk and see that there are some other people on their couch. Monica looks fine and happy - even though later in the episode the other Friends say that she's been depressed for some days now, and she doesn't leave her apartment.
Audio problem: In the scene where Malcolm is talking to Phoebe in the subway, you can hear him but his lips aren't moving.
Answer: Usually by the seventh night of Hanukkah you don't know what to get the other person, and you will probably resort to getting the other person something insignificant. Chandler is basically saying that the pen is a stupid gift.
