Question: Cochran's plan hinges on kids still having the Trademark tags on their mask, and for some strange reason they keep those tags on. Marge even said they trademarks shouldn't come off easily. Why? You'd figure the first thing you and your kid would do after buying a mask is to remove the tags, so they don't rub against your skin.

Shane (1953)
Question: Am I the only one that has seen an alternate ending to Shane? I saw it once where he comes riding back from over the hill.
Answer: During the 1960's, there was a TV Series, "Shane," which ran for one season on ABC. The premise was Shane returned to the ranch to help the now widowed Starrett and her son.
Thanks for the reply, but my daughter already suggested that one. That definitely wasn't it though. I've never even seen that TV show. The one I saw first was Allan Ladd and no other. All the other actors the same as well. There is no other movie that I have ever thought this about.
Answer: As far as I know there is no alternate ending. I've watched it for over forty years.
Yeah, that's what everyone says. So far no-one has seen what I saw. My best guess is that I saw an alternate version of the movie that they accidentally released briefly to my local Dayton Ohio TV station in 1970. Then again maybe I was briefly transported to an alternate universe where that is their version? Just kidding... I think?
Mandela effect.
I saw Shane for the first time in 1970. I do remember it well. It was a slightly different version. I've seen it several times since and it is a different version. The first one I saw was like this... The father was not as good of a husband and father. Shane and the woman had a bit more than just an attraction. The farmer knocked Shane out and the farmer went to town and got himself killed. After leaving, Shane came back over the hill. The boy, with tears in his eyes, yelled "Shane you came back".
This is a perfect example of the Mandela Effect. No alternate version of the film exists where Shane comes back over the hill. There would be no reason for the studio to spend the money to script, shoot, edit, and distribute two versions of a film that vary so wildly. That there is no evidence of this alternate version other than "memories" should indicate that it doesn't actually exist. It is possible you are conflating elements of the film and the 1966 television series.

Question: At the beginning of the episode we see all the children in Hawkins' lab die because of Eleven. But what happened to her? Just what did she do that made her kill all of those people?
Answer: This is answered in a later episode so you should watch the entire season, but if you really want to know...SPOILERS She didn't, 1 (Vecna) killed all those children.
Answer: You see what happened in one of the later episodes in the season ("Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab").

Aliens (1986)
Question: I know there's a few different releases of this film with different scenes. Has it ever been revealed how the Aliens managed to get inside the complex? Ripley states they must have missed an entrance to which Hudson replies they didn't miss anything. Is there a deleted scene, director's cut etc that shows how the aliens got in?
Answer: It's shown in the film (both versions) that the Aliens use the space in the drop ceiling to get into the complex. The drop ceiling doesn't show on the blueprints so Ripley and the Marines didn't think about it. When Ripley wonders if they missed anything Hicks replies "We didn't miss anything." Hicks is technically correct, but Ripley then says "Something not on the blueprints, I don't know." They did not account for the fact the ceiling grates aren't the actual top of the room because they made their plans based on the blueprints.
The aliens used the space above the drop ceilings to move around the complex once inside, but it is never revealed how they actually got in from outside.
Alien: Resurrection shows the aliens are happy to sacrifice one of their own to use their blood to help them escape captivity - possible something similar happened here if they knew it was worth them getting inside.

Question: What are the Slayers? They have the bodies of men, but when they die something escapes into the sand from their "head." A parasite? A collection of tentacles?
Answer: The Slayers are small, tentacled alien creatures that control durable metallic bodies. If the shell body sustains enough damage, the worm-like creature will abandon the metal frame and burrow underground. It would seem without the metal bodies the creatures are vulnerable if not entirely defenseless.

Question: Did they have signs for smoking cars on the train windows in that era?
Answer: Yes they did. In 1868 the Railway Regulation Bill was passed in the UK which forced railway companies to designate certain cars as smoking cars. This bill was passed in response to companies banning smoking altogether on their trains.

Predator (1987)
Question: How was that trap that Arnold set up in the trench supposed to work? I don't think that the log falling onto the victim was part of it; Arnold improvised that when the Predator wised up and decided to go around it.
Answer: The net on the floor of the trap was tied to the log, which was used as a counterweight. When the tripwire is triggered, the log will fall pulling the net up into the spikes rigged on the ceiling. The predator actually bumped his head on the spike which gave away the trap but when he went around he stood in the exact spot the log would fall. Dutch then tripped the wire himself to drop the log.

Speed (1994)
Question: What is that device that Payne uses in the elevator? He punches 46 into it and the elevator starts going up, but later he pushes the number 3 on the elevator buttons themselves and it start going down.
Answer: It's a device he is using to bypass the elevator controls. The panel on the elevator shows was floor button was pressed on the actual elevator controls (and on the security system the police are monitoring), but Payne's device is the only thing that will actually move the elevator. Using this device he is able to make it seem like the elevator is on one floor (the third floor) when in actuality he took the elevator down to the basement. He presses 46 on his device to take the elevator to the top floor to try to crush Jack.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Question: How did Patrick Mulligan get a piece of a symbiote? He was killed by Shriek, not by a piece of Carnage.
Answer: It is deliberately never shown on screen, so unless it gets answered in a sequel the audience is left to speculate. Mulligan does come into direct contact with Carnage since Cletus is the person who kidnapped him. In addition, the fight between Venom and Carnage takes place all over the church with the pair constantly stabbing, slashing, and bludgeoning each other. A piece of either symbiote could be somewhere in that building. Again, though this is just speculation since it's never shown how Mulligan is infected.

Question: How did the Marshalls figure out that Dr Nichols was in Kimble's car?
Answer: Kimble mentioned in his police interview that he loaned Nichols his car the night of the murder. This part of his interview actually wasn't shown on screen. It is mentioned by Gerard's team as they attempt to piece together the crime and catch Kimble.

Jumanji (1995)
Question: When Carl found his police car smashed into the tree, shouldn't the airbag be deployed?
Answer: I'm not sure about Carls cruiser because he appears to be the only Officer in a small town, I doubt very much he's getting into high speed pursuits. However, in my cruiser I have the option to disable the air bag system. This is due to the possibility of the air bags deploying if a suspect vehicle stops and then deliberately backs into the pursuing cruiser.
Answer: It should have deployed, that model Caprice came with an airbag standard. Airbags will sometimes fail to deploy due to equipment malfunction.

Aliens (1986)
Question: 1) If a commanding officer orders you to do something but what they ask you makes no logical sense should you still do it? I'm of course referring to Apone ordering his people to get rid of their ammo. And what are the repercussions for NOT obeying the order? 2) Why wouldn't they check for aliens coming on the ceiling? Wouldn't the ceiling ducts show up on the blueprints they looked over earlier?
Answer: 1) Of course they are supposed to obey orders. Superiors don't usually completely explain the full reason why they give a specific order, it takes too long. That's why soldiers are trained to obey orders, no questions asked. You can see what happens when soldiers don't obey orders, because they had a good reason to tell them not to fire their guns, and they got lucky they didn't hit anything that could compromise the reactor. Insubordination is a serious offense. But since these are fictional space marines we can't really know what the repercussions would be. 2) The aliens didn't come through any ducts. They were hiding in the walls, which had a similar structure and colour as their bodies (logical since they made it). The marines didn't know the aliens would be so stealthy and smart to hide in the walls. They were there for search and rescue and weren't ready to face the aliens, since they hardly knew anything about them.
I think the second part of the question is referring to the scene where Hicks checks in the drop ceiling and finds aliens there. The poster is asking how come the drop ceiling doesn't show up on the blueprints.

X-Men 3 (2006)
Question: Whatever happened to Nightcrawler? He was still with Professor X and the other good mutants at the end of the second film, but in this one he's suddenly gone and no-one even mentions him.
Answer: Alan Cumming declined to reprise the role due to the uncomfortable makeup process, the change in directors (Brett Ratner taking over for Bryan Singer who left the project to film Superman Returns), and the fact Nightcrawler's role would have been minimal in this film. The absence is not explained in the film but the video game X-Men: The Official Game, which is canonical to the films and takes place between the 2nd and 3rd films, has Nightcrawler leave the X-Men because he is uncomfortable with the violent lifestyle.

The Karate Kid Part II (1986)
Question: Did Kristy Swanson and Randee Heller decline doing the sequel or were they too busy with other movies?
Answer: If referring to the blonde in the first movie, that was Elisabeth Shue, not Kristy Swanson.
Okay my mistake but did they decline returning or what?
Answer: To add to the previous answer, Elisabeth Shue went back to Harvard to continue her studies which is why she doesn't appear in the sequel.
Answer: Ali was originally only supposed to have a very small role in Part 2. Elizabeth Shue declined to reprise the role because she was studying at Harvard at the time. I can't find any explanation online as to why Randee Heller was not in Part 2 and was barely in Part 3.
Answer: Like all studio executives they think mixing things up by bringing in new characters into different settings would keep the franchise fresh. Most of the sequels from the 1980's were given minor or major cast changes.

Cop Out (2010)
Question: I know that Bruce Willis and Kevin Smith didn't get along at all when working on this movie. What was the reason behind their feud?
Answer: In his recent book 'Kevin Smith's Secret Stash', Smith states that he experienced "true darkness" working with Bruce Willis. According to Smith, Bruce Willis does not enjoy making movies. Smith accuses Willis of being lazy and accounts several stories of the two having creative differences on set, including Willis being angry that Smith allowed Tracy Morgan to improvise dialogue. Willis also apparently took issue with Smith contradicting him in front of the crew. For his part, Willis has only vaguely commented on the animosity between the two, calling Smith a "whiner" in one interview.

Stranger Things (2016)
Chapter Eight: The Upside Down - S1-E8
Question: I heard that Steve was originally supposed to die in this season. Was it during the fight against the Demogorgon?
Answer: Technically Steve was never intended to die in Stranger Things. The Duffer brothers wrote a pilot script for a miniseries called Montauk that would eventually become Stranger Things. In that version of the story Steve is a more overtly villainous character and is killed by a monster. The Steve character was reworked once Stranger Things was created due to Joe Keery's more likeable approach to the character.
Answer: No. Steve has not died in any of the 3 seasons so far.

The Fugitive (1993)
Question: When interviewed by the police, why did none of the doctors provide Kimble with an alibi, stating he'd been doing the operation at the time of his wife's murder? They all state how much of a great doctor Kimble is, but not once do they say he was doing an operation.
Answer: Because the surgery wasn't much of an alibi, the police and the prosecution are arguing that Richard killed Helen after the surgery. The time of Mrs. Kimble's death does line up with Richard coming home after the surgery and fighting Sykes. Since nobody but Richard and Sykes know the exact second Helen died, the police theorized that Richard came home from the surgery and killed his wife so his colleagues mentioning the surgery is meaningless.

Question: Why didn't Arleen Sorkin reprise her role of Harley for Arkham City and Arkham Knight?
Answer: Arleen Sorkin had retired from voicing the character around the time this game was being made. Her last voice role as Harley Quinn was in DC Universe Online, which was released the same year as Arkham City (2011).

Toy Story 3 (2010)
Question: In the original, Andy slides toys down banisters, crashes them into stuff using RC, use a reclining chair to fire them across the room... Not forgetting Molly repeatedly whacking Mr Potato Head on her crib loads of times. Yet in this film, when other kids "play" with them they seem to have an issue with it. Why?
Answer: The kids at the day care center are overly rough to them because they don't love the toys like someone who owns them would.

Answer: It is not a hanging price tag like you would typically find on a rubber Halloween mask. It looks more like a large silver button that is attached to the mask itself. Removing the button would leave a large hole in the back of the mask which would not be desirable. It also appears that the button has a front and back, meaning it was put onto the mask in two pieces. Presumably Marge is saying it would be very difficult to remove the buttons by trying to "open" them. The one child in the test run we see wearing the mask, albeit briefly, doesn't appear to be uncomfortable. That is until snakes and insects burst out of his head.
