Continuity mistake: When Gus arrives to visit Molly in the hospital, he brings her a bouquet of flowers. He sets the flowers on the roll-away table stationed over the end of the bed, and the blooms are facing towards the window. When the scene cuts to a different angle as he is walking toward Molly, the bouquet is now completely turned around and the stems are pointing at the window, even though Gus did not touch them again.
Trivia: In the flashback scene at the beginning of Episode 4, the young Stavros Milos finds a case of money buried in the snow, next to a fence on the road where his car runs out of gas. This is the same case that Carl Showalter buried there in the 1996 Fargo movie. It was the ransom money for Jerry Lungegard's wife. Stavros apparently used it to start his grocery business.
Question: When Langdon and the Italian cop are trapped inside the sealed room of the Vatican archive and the air is shut off, how long could they actually survive in a space that size? In the movie, they start to suffocate almost immediately. (There is no long time lapse because the movie's plot depends on defusing the bomb within a few hours).
Chosen answer:In reality, they would have perished from CO2 poisoning long before the room ran out of breathable oxygen causing them to simply suffocate. Without knowing the exact dimensions of the room it is impossible to give any time more specific than "several hours" for this to happen in a room as big as that one appeared to be.
I just re-watched the movie, and as Langdon and Vittoria enter the room, it's mentioned to them that the oxygen levels are always kept at a bare minimum to protect the ancient tomes and documents stored there. That helps to answer my own question about why Langdon and the cop were so quickly affected when the power was shut off.
Continuity mistake: At the end, as Alex comes out of her mother's hospital room, there are two large framed pictures on the hallway wall to her right, next to the door. When the scene cuts to a long shot of her walking toward her father and sister, there's now only one picture on that wall. There is no other section of that wall that has two pictures next to each other.
Revealing mistake: Early on, after Clary blasts the demon with a homemade explosion that blows a huge fireball across the kitchen and blasts out the window, there is no sign of anything being burned, not even the curtains. The kitchen is only in a slight shambles and there are small fires burning in isolated areas that never spread or char anything.
Continuity mistake: The T-rex completely destroys the outdoor bathroom facility that the lawyer ran into. The lawyer is perched atop the toilet and the remaining damaged wall behind him is tilted backwards. When the camera cuts to a shot where the lawyer is seen from behind and the T-rex is just about to eat him, the wall is missing. When it cuts back to a front shot, the wall is back again.
Factual error: During the Vengeance's fall to Earth, just after hitting Alcatraz, the saucer section hits the surface of San Francisco Bay, the outer rim diving dozens of meters into the water and its rear lifting up almost vertically into the air. A few seconds later the ship is seen from the onshore view, and it is straight and level and heading directly at Star Fleet Headquarters. Hitting the water at that angle and speed, so close to the shore, the ship could not have righted itself and gotten on that trajectory going that fast. It should have sunk or flipped over when it hit the water. Even if it could flip 360°, there was not enough time, distance, or height for the ship to continue on to its target at that speed. The water's drag would have slowed it too much.(01:52:40)
Continuity mistake: The Swann residence has changed from the first film. Although the house looks exactly the same, the street and landscaping are completely different. An identical replica of the house was built in a different location for the second and third film.
Trivia: The transporter officer who beams Spock down to Earth to capture Khan is played by Christopher Doohan, son of actor James Doohan who played Cmdr. Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in the original Star Trek series and movies.(01:54:00)
Trivia: As Kirk, Spock, and Uhura head to the shuttle bay for their mission to Kronos to capture Khan, Sulu orders crew to prepare the vessel that was confiscated in the Mudd incident. This is a reference to Harry Mudd, a roguish character who appeared in the original Star Trek series in the episodes titled,"I, Mudd" and "Mudd's Women." Harry Mudd, played by Roger C. Carmel, was the only non-regular character to appear in more than one episode on the original Star Trek series. Carmel was slated to reprise the role in Star Trek: TNG, but he died before the episode could be filmed.(00:44:25)
Revealing mistake: When Jace and Clary are on the spiral staircase in the conservatory, the automatic overhead sprinklers go off. Even though the (CGI) water spray can be seen falling all around them and they are not under any cover, they are obviously not getting wet, their hair and clothes staying perfectly dry. When the scene cuts to a different viewpoint, there are some water spots on Jace's back, but they are in an odd pattern and only in a small area, not all over his light-colored shirt, which is dry. As they are walking back to Clary's room, both are still completely dry and the wet spot on Jace's back has disappeared.
Plot hole: Lisa calls Cynthia and tells her to pull the hotel's fire alarm, which she does. Cynthia then physically goes up to the Keefe's suite to warn them something is wrong. Even though the fire alarm was pulled and it can be heard blaring in the lobby, the Keefes and the security team seem to have no idea that there is a problem until Cynthia knocks on the door and tells them to get out.
Continuity mistake: During the room-by-room search in the Pentagon, Kevin Costner deliberately spills coffee on his uniform to avoid the witnesses seeing him. There is a huge wet spot on his left rear and down the back of his pant leg. A few seconds later, after he has excused himself to go to his office to change his uniform, he is seen in the hallway, only now the coffee stain is visibly smaller and more on the front of the pant leg.
Plot hole: Skye's mother, Deborah, was held hostage by the Sixers for several years, though everyone believed she had died in an epidemic and was buried in Memorial Field. The Sixers kept her alive with medicine only they had to force Skye to act as their spy. Even though Terra Nova has a medical clinic staffed by doctors and nurses, it was never noticed that no one had witnessed Deborah dying, her body was never placed in the morgue, that was there no record of her being buried, or even questioned that there was no corpse. Deborah just disappeared without a trace and nobody wondered about it.
Continuity mistake: The overall timeline of the film is about twelve months but it is inconsistent as far as the seasons. When Blomkvist arrives at the Vanger's island, it is the dead of winter with deep snowfall. A short while later, when Blomkvist is talking to the detective on a pay phone (who asks if he is surviving the winter weather), the snow is gone and the deciduous trees have no leaves, but a few minutes later, when the scene cuts to Henrik Vanger being rushed to the hospital, it is suddenly the middle of summer, sunny and the trees are in full bloom. When Lisbeth arrives on the island, and she and Blomkvist are sitting outside at night talking, the trees close to the house are bare and a howling wind can be heard in the background, but the next day trees have leaves. Some weeks later, when Lisbeth saves Bloomkvist from Martin, it is winter again, with heavy frost on the ground and trees are bare once more. A little while after that, when Lisbeth and Blomkvist go to find Harriet, trees on the street are in full bloom. A day or two later, when Blomkvist is talking to Harriet in the park, it is apparently now early spring because the smaller deciduous trees are only just beginning to sprout new leaves while some bigger ones have none at all. At the very end, it's just before Christmas again.
Plot hole: Reggie finds Tex's body stretched out on the bedroom floor, his feet tied to the radiator next to the wall and his hands bound to the bed frame, suffocated with a plastic bag over his head. The bed is a twin-sized, wood frame that Tex, a tall, strong young man, could have pulled the end of it with his hands and arms close enough to his face to at least attempt to tear a hole in the plastic bag so he could breath. He was obviously conscious early on because he wrote the name "Dyle" in the dusty floor with his finger. Considering the floor is covered in dust, there's not even the slightest sign of a struggle to free himself. Instead he just neatly prints the name on the floor before he dies.
Trivia: In the coffee shop scene at the beginning, the cashier/server who waits on Daniel Craig is the daughter of Michael Nyqvist, the actor who played Mikael Blomkvist in the Swedish version of this film.
Continuity mistake: Just after Houdini returns to the United States from his European tour, he stages a publicity stunt. The lady in the apartment opens her window shade and sees Houdini hanging upside down, directly outside the window. When it cuts to an outside shot, he is now suspended above the roof line, where the woman would not be able to see him.
Continuity mistake: At the end, when Martin has been shot and appears to be dead, he tries to shoot Laura. He then dies, holding the gun in his hand. It's still in his hand when Laura gets up to attend to Ben, who is unconscious by the front door. The shot changes, and Martin is now lying in a different position, the gun nowhere to be seen.
Trivia: Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are the only Hunger Game tributes ever referred to by their first and last names. The other tributes are just identified by their first names, even when they're being introduced by Caesar Flickerman during the televised interviews or their scores are being announced on television.
