Friends (1994)

The One With The Yeti - S5-E6

Continuity mistake: When Rachel and Monica knock on Danny's door and he opens it, there is a wall a few feet behind him. Later, when Rachel shows up at Danny's apartment to cancel their date, she enters into an open room and there is no longer a wall in front of the door. Danny's apartment is supposed to be one floor directly below Chandler and Joey's apartment. This was obviously the same set for their apartment that was used for Danny's and the wall was added for that shot to disguise it.

Alien: Covenant (2017)

Trivia: When David is cutting his hair, he is singing, "The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo." This is a reference to the film, "Lawrence of Arabia." In Alien: Prometheus, David had a fondness for that particular movie and emulated Peter O'Toole, who played T.E. Lawrence. In the movie, Lawrence sang that song while riding on a camel in the desert.

Revealing mistake: During winter at the cabin, several of the kidnapped girls are doing chores. As they are about to go back inside the cabin, the long icicles hanging on the porch eaves can be seen swinging loosely when they should be frozen in place.

Stupidity: During the execution scene when Carina is on the gallows with a noose around her neck, the plot depends on Henry being able to get to her before she is dropped through the trap door. However, there is so much slack in the hanging rope that during the chaotic fighting, when Carina is left unattended, she could easily have stepped off the small trap door and onto the solid flooring that is inches away. Instead, she continues standing there, waiting to be rescued.

Trivia: When Ana is telling Hannah, her new assistant, what she expects of her in the job, the dialogue is taken from the 1988 film "Working Girl," starring Dakota Johnson's mother, Melanie Griffith. Ana says, "I expect you to call me Ana. I don't expect you to fetch me coffee, unless you're getting some for yourself, and the rest, we'll just make up as we go along." In "Working Girl," Melanie Griffith says, "I expect you to call me Tess. I don't expect you to fetch me coffee unless you're getting some for yourself, and the rest we'll just make up as we go along."

Star Trek Beyond (2016)

Trivia: The black eye that Jim Kirk sports at the end of the film is real. During the fight scenes between Krall and Kirk, Idris Elba (Krall) accidentally hit Chris Pine, resulting in the bruised right eye. Pine insisted on using this in the final scene to add realism.

Cast Away (2000)

Revealing mistake: When Kelly is copying her dissertation, there is no paper being fed through the copier feeder or any printed pages going into the output tray. (00:12:40)

Suggested correction: Watch carefully. When Kelly turns round, you can see, by her right hand, paper coming out of the copier and landing in a pile on top of each other.

Ssiscool

Factual error: The balloon that the Union soldiers escape in has no mechanical burner of any type in it that would be needed to keep the craft aloft in the air. A balloon flies by heating the air inside the bag, causing it to rise up. It descend as it cools.

Suggested correction: Gas balloons (using Hydrogen or Helium) large enough to carry passengers were invented in the late 1700s. Gas-filled observation balloons (such as the one in this film) were, in fact, used during the Civil War.

Donovan's Reef (1963)

Continuity mistake: At the end, when Amelia goes to Donovan's bar, she gives Gilhooley a wrapped present containing a model train set. Amelia then goes into another room to confront Donovan. When she comes out a few minutes later, Gilhooley has completely set up the train and is playing with it. He would not have had enough time to unpack it, much less have it up and running.

Plot hole: Even though Toula speaks and understands Greek (having gone to Greek school most of her early life and teens) her grandmother, who does not speak English, uses sign language to communicate with her. The grandmother is not deaf or mute.

Rear Window (1954)

Factual error: Jeff has been in a cast (for a broken leg) for seven weeks and has been in his apartment for most of that time. He tells his boss that he has one more week before the cast is removed and can then immediately go back on assignment as a photojournalist. By this time he should have been transferred to a walking cast and be using crutches instead of confined to a wheelchair, but he is still wearing a full leg cast that goes up to and around his waist.

Vertigo (1958)

Continuity mistake: Near the end, when Scotty is driving Judy to the Mission, the view from inside the car of the road shows that Scotty is driving on the left-hand side when he should legally be on the right. It is not a one-way road, and it appears that the shot was flipped.

Other mistake: When the boat that Willy Wonka and the passengers are riding on is heading for the tunnel through the river of chocolate, two crewmen are cranking the paddle wheel. The wheel is in an opening in the middle of the deck. As the paddle is rotating, moving the boat through the river, the blades are always clean and dry and never have any chocolate on them whatsoever. Also the paddle is rotating the wrong way. It should be rotating clockwise.

Suggested correction: When the Wonkamobile and passengers are covered in lather, it goes through a magical "squeegee" line that instantly has everyone clean and dry. Perhaps the same principle goes for the paddlewheel.

The paddles would not come out looking so "pristine".

The Strain (2014)

The Assassin - S2-E10

Continuity mistake: After Coco Marchand's emergency surgery for a serious gunshot wound to the chest, she is seen recovering in bed, in a coma, on a respirator, possibly permanently brain-damaged, and in critical condition. A few hours later, when Eldridge Palmer is sitting by her bedside, Coco is suddenly without the respirator and there is no physical sign (bandages, tubes, stitches, bloodstains, etc.) whatsoever of her just having had extensive thoracic surgery for a near-fatal injury. There is only an IV line in her arm. This is before The Master arrives and revives her, and Palmer did not know if/when The Master would come, so he would not have had the respirator removed.

Continuity mistake: The morning after Christian brought a drunk Ana back to his hotel room, she is sitting in bed eating some breakfast. The piece of toast she is holding keeps changing shape, having one bite taken out of it, then two, then one again in a different pattern.
