Blade II (2002)

Corrected entry: When Blade is in the tunnel and he kicks the bomb case, look at the timer on the bomb and it says 6 and a half seconds. From when the shot goes from Blade back to him a couple of shots later, its a lot more than 6 and a half seconds. (01:14:40)

The-Immortal

Correction: First, the movie isn't in real time, so the fight of Nyssa and Reinhard can be at the same time as Blade is trying to set off the bomb. Second, the bomb isn't working how it is supposed to, so the 6 seconds can easily take longer when if the bomb was stuck again.

National Treasure (2004)

Corrected entry: When Ben is running through the graveyard from Ian's men in Philadelphia, he shuts a gate behind him to hamper his pursuer. The man tries to open the gate, but it is locked. However, the gate obviously bares a keyhole for an old skeleton key. In order for Ben to have locked the gate, he would've had to have the key with him. But we see no action of him locking the gate at all. In reality, it should have remained unlocked.

Correction: It can easily become locked when the door is shut. There are many doors that have "one way locks" (no matter how old or modern the door is), you can lock them by closing the door without turning a key. However you need a key to reopen it.

ER (1994)

Show generally

Corrected entry: Season 13, Episode 19: "Family Business" - Tony counts out three bills and hands them to his father to go buy groceries. When Tony berates him later for blowing it all on booze and Coming Home stumbling drunk, he screams that it was $100. There is no combination of US currency where three bills can add up to $100.

Correction: He gives him 5 bills! Watch closely, Tony takes out a folded "bundle" of bills, he counts and opens three of them, you can clearly see that there is a fourth bill still folded. Then you see Tony reach back to his pocket and adds a fifth bill, 5x20=100.

Casino Royale (2006)

Corrected entry: On the train to Montenegro, Bond & Vesper are swaying or rocking with the train, but the wine on the table is not.

Correction: There is only one shot where the wine isn't moving, and that is when Bond and Vesper arn't swaying either, perfectly explainable by a straight and even track. In all other shots where we see wine or water they match the movements of the train.

Con Air (1997)

Corrected entry: After the fight at the airfield, Colm Meaney and John Cusack board the Cobra helicopters to act as weapons operators. How could they be better trained than the guys who were there originally? Would they even know what to do and just how likely is it that the average DEA agent or US Marshall would be able to operate the weapons system on a Cobra anyway?

Correction: The DEA agent wants the aircraft shoot down and Larkin wants to prevent that, that's why they both jump onto the choppers. This is a time of crisis, so probably the pilots took off with them. Plus the weapons system on a cobra can easily be operated by the pilot alone.

Con Air (1997)

Corrected entry: When Johnny tries to rape the female guard, Poe comes to the rescue and knocks him out. Poe then handcuffs him to an overhead rail with both hands in the cuffs over the rail. Yet after the crash, while the police are doing clean-up, they drag away Johnny leaving one arm hanging off, as if Poe put only one of his hands in the cuffs, and one cuff on the overhead rail. Even with one arm severed, they couldn't naturally have got out of that position without the severed arm going over the rail, in which case it would be lying on the floor with the rest of him.

Correction: We don't see Johnny the whole time from the cuffing till the crash. There would have been enough time for somebody, even Poe, to uncuff one arm so that Johnny could be better prepared for the imminent crash.

Ronnie Bischof

That is incorrect. We see Johnny 3 times during the crash landing scene. 2 times he's yelling at Cyrus, trying to wake him up. And right before the final crash, we do see him in the plane, both hands still bound.

S.W.A.T. (2003)

Corrected entry: When the team is trapped in the sewer behind a metal gate, they decide to use the claymore to blow the door out. When it's armed and ready, Street shoots. The M18 claymore is an anti-personnel device containing 700 ball-bearings, and these balls are lethal up to 100 metres out. You don't want to be within shooting distance. This aside, a claymore is made with plastic explosives, which means that it is very stable and can't be detonated without an electrical force. Shooting a claymore does nothing. (01:31:35)

Correction: I've worked myself with claymores in the army. Claymores (also the M18A1) are effective within 100m range, that's correct, however they only fan out 60° to the "Front toward enemy" side. And then claymores are actually supposed to be detonated by hand, however with only few changes you can change a claymore into a trap, for example a tripwire (even if it is forbidden by the Ottawa Treaty / Mine Ban Treaty). Having explained that there is absolutely no mistake in this scene, as Street places the mine in a ~100° angle to the left-front, and he shoots from cover on the right. Also with the configuration into the uncontrolled way, he can detonate it by shooting at the cable clip.

Corrected entry: The Law of Gravity prevents the train from ever being stuck upside down in a loop; it's physically impossible. Also, coasters do not have brakes on the cars. The only moving parts on a roller coaster are the chain on the lift hill, and the brakes/brake release in the station. Once the cars leave the top of the lift hill, gravity is the only thing affecting the cars until they reach the station again. No electrical/hydraulic stuff on the cars at all.

Jazetopher

Correction: The cars have been damaged by the camera, so it is plausible that a piece of metal acted as a braking device. Plus there has been an incidence in Switzerland where a rollercoaster has been stuck upside down for about 30 minutes, in addition another member was stuck in a coaster about 1 quarter up in a loop.

Pearl Harbor (2001)

Corrected entry: When the attack force is spotted on radar, the officer who decides it is a flight of B-17s is addressed as "Lieutenant". However, he is wearing an Army uniform, thus the two silver bars on his epaulets would denote the rank of Captain (O-3). (01:20:25)

Correction: Which is nothing more than a character mistake. A recruit who hasn't been in the army for a long time, usually having a lieutenant as a superior, not having paid attention or the Captain just got promoted and the guy isn't used to it yet.

Pearl Harbor (2001)

Corrected entry: Crashing into the English Channel at full speed, like Rafe did when he was shot down by the Messerschmitt, and then surviving the crash, is physically impossible. In the movie the airplane "dives" into the water, while in real life, it would just disintegrate against the surface of the water and the pilot would, most probably, be catapulted out of his seatbelts and then through his canopy into the water (And needless to add: he would definitely not survive).

Correction: You cannot say that, we have no indication about speed of the aircraft, exact angle of impact or any other detail that is necessary to tell how the airframe would respond to the water. And whether he would survive or not you can't tell either, two examples to show you what a body can bare: three fighter pilots who were shot down in WWII survived a free fall from over 5000m as they landed in a wood and there was a yugoslavian stewardess who fell out of an aircraft after a bombing at flightlevel 300 (10 km) and she survived the fall!

Desert Son - S1-E4

Corrected entry: After passing the coordinates, we hear Williams say "Do you copy?". The reply he gets is "Negative." At that point Williams should have resent the coordinates, as the coordinates were either not received or understood.

Correction: And that's exactly what he does. He repeats the direction bearing 136 and then the scene cuts to the captain, so the distance surely was transmitted as well, we just didn't hear it. No mistake in the radio transmission.

Independence Day (1996)

Corrected entry: After Will Smith has ejected out of his plane and is walking towards the alien plane shouting "Who's the man?", he is wearing gloves. But when he punches the alien, he is bare-handed. (01:01:45)

Correction: The distance between Smith's landing position and the space ship is about 100 meters, then he stars walking towards the ship, shortly before the scene is cut, he is about 40-50 meters away from his parachute, in the new shot he is standing right next to the spaceship, that gives him 50 meters and about 20 seconds to take his gloves off and throw them away, and as he just has wrecked a 60 million dollar aircraft he sure doesn't care about bringing home the gloves!

Independence Day (1996)

Corrected entry: When Captain Steven "Steve" Hiller and David Levinson are getting ready to fly out on the alien ship, the camera shows Hiller the launchpad for the missile that they are to use on the mothership. Hiller says, "It's just like the AMRAAM launch pad on a stealth." AMRAAM stands for Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile. Both the F-117 "Stealth Fighter" and the B-2 "Stealth Bomber" only carry air to ground weapons. Neither stealth is equipped to carry AMRAAMs, and therefore wouldn't have AMRAAM launchpads.

Correction: This is a movie where aliens attack earth, and where they have a spaceship in Area 51. Not every project from the military is public, so it's perfectly feasible that they could have a new stealth aircraft with AMRAAM launchpads on it.

The Island (2005)

Corrected entry: If all the Echo generation was made in the same year then why do they destroy the "products" still in the water bags? Wouldn't that be a new generation?

Correction: If you would have followed the movie attentively, then you would know that the Echo generation was infected including every subsequent generation, that's why they also destroyed the bodies in the feeding bags.

Ronnie Bischof

Corrected entry: In the first film the plane crash was always going to happen, nothing the teenagers did or didn't do was going to alter that. In FD2 the car crash was always going to happen, again, nothing the teenagers did was going to alter this, because again, their actions were not responsible for the crash. But in FD3 an action by someone on the coaster is why it crashed, and by that person not riding the coaster and removing the item responsible for the crash (the camera), the crash should never have happened. I accept that the teenagers escaped death, but that still doesn't change the fact that the crash simply couldn't have happened. It has been established in the movies that Death can improvise with deaths, but it has never been established Death can simply cause the crash regardless of Frankie Cheeks' involvement, because that would negate the point of the flashback.

Correction: As flashbacks are fiction, nobody can say whether they would be entirely correct or that details could be different. Now we are talking about death haunting people to fulfill his plan. He intends to let that rollercoaster crash, but Frankie leaves the coaster and the camera couldn't have fallen out, however, death could have found a different way to let the coaster crash (remember the leak in the breaking system in the flashback). Only thing we see in the "real" crash is that the coaster goes off the tracks at a highly elevated point of the tracks, not like in the flash back, where they hit the camera at the bottom and then start to fall off in the looping. There is absolutely no mistake here, and has been corrected legitimately before.

Snakes on a Plane (2006)

Corrected entry: The radio calls made by the copilot do not adhere to proper radio procedure calls for aviation. The call letter code is incorrect, not bearing any resemblance to an alpha code for the identifying flight and number, the order of making the Mayday call is incorrect, he should call Mayday 3 times first, then his identification, and the call for the pilot having a perceived heart attack should not be a mayday call, but a Pan, Pan , Pan call. The difference is a Mayday call is for imminent danger to the plane, such as catastrophic engine failure, likely to result in a crash. A Pan call is to notify ATC that an emergency has occurred (such as medical) but the plane is not in danger of crashing. The co-pilot for a major airline would be able to fly the plane without the captain, so the plane is not in immediate danger. Yet.

Correction: This is not fully true! A Mayday call is a distress signal, when the airplane or any person on board is in serious and/or imminent danger and requiers immediate assistance. So if a person on board has a heart attack or even if it is only suspected the plane needs to land asap. Our company policy, for example, is to land on the next suitable airfield! A PAN PAN call is conducted when an urgency prevails, where urgency is defined as follows: Urgency is a condition concerning the safety of an aircraft or a person on board which doesn't require immediate assistance. Now a person having a heart attack does require immediate assistance, believe me! As for the not calling 3 times mayday. The distress signal is Mayday, PREFERABLY spoken three times, and followed by as much information as possible about the aircraft and the prevailing situation. I've been in distress once in my flying career, it was in South Africa, shortly after takeoff, I couldn't even say the callsign of the aircraft I was so focused on the hill that grew in front of me...

Pilot - S1-E1

Corrected entry: The note Ryan's mom leaves him on the counter says (among other things, the note is hard to read even on zoom), "your stuff is in a bag in your room" however he never goes to collect it, which is strange because if he left without it, Ryan would have practically no other material possessions other than the small bag he took to the Cohen's.

Correction: Ryan is a kid from Chino, he has hardly any material possessions. Before he lived in a ramshackle hut, and now he lives in a pool house which is probably 20 times bigger then his old home and the Cohen's buy everything new for him anyways. Ryan left most of his past behind - that includes his bag - and got the chance to live a better life.

Corrected entry: When Cadbury is in jail he uses the acidic toothpaste to burn through steel bars, If it's strong enough to burn steel, why didn't it burn the toothpaste tube?

Correction: First, this isn't the most realistic movie. Second: in chemistry you can do very interesting things, like create a paste that is very reactive on steel but not reacting with plastics.

The O.C. (2003)

Season 2 generally

Corrected entry: When Marissa shoots Trey in the Season 2 finale, the blood changes from shot to shot. When the bullet first hits his back, blood sprays and drips from the wound, and then later when he's slumped over unconscious, the wound is small with hardly any blood. The wound on his chest also has little blood but then in the next shot it's all over his white singlet.

Correction: There is no mistakes on the "blood work". When he gets shot from the behind the blood sprays and drips - according to his position over Ryan - onto his brother. We can not make out the size of the wound and as entry-wounds are normally very small, there is no mistake why it is small in the end as well. The blood around the wound when he is lying down is only a small area, that's because dripped straight out and never was on his shirt. When he starts to bleed on his chest there is a small drip in the beginning leaving a little mark on the shirt, but regarding the cloth of his shirt it'll suck up the blood quite easily and as Trey is "checking" the wound with his fingers - which are bloody as well from the fight - he'd spread the blood even more.

Ronnie Bischof

Corrected entry: On the the site with the victims/survivors of flight 180, that the officer is looking on, under the photo of Billy Hitchcock you'll find written in red letters "Decapitated by train". Which is not really correct. When the train passed by, it caused a piece of metal, that was lying near or between the tracks, to "fly". This piece of metal decapitated Billy.

Correction: Should they have written "Decapitated by a piece of metal that has been lifted by a train passing by and hit Billy's neck"? This is a rather long explanation for a picture title.
