Season 12, episode "The Human Shield". Zoe's father comes to the ER to question Neela on why she has given Zoe medication. He knows her name only from the tag on the bottle of pills. The tag does not specify where the doctor in question works, there is no way he could have known that she worked in the ER and not in any other department. Zoe sure didn't tell him. [Her father could have phoned the hospital to find out what department Neela worked in.]

Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

Season 13, Episode 19: "Family Business" - Tony counts out three bills and hands them to his father to go buy groceries. When Tony berates him later for blowing it all on booze and coming home stumbling drunk, he screams that it was $100. There is no combination of US currency where three bills can add up to $100. [He gives him 5 bills! Watch closely, Tony takes out a folded "bundle" of bills, he counts and opens three of them, you can clearly see that there is a fourth bill still folded. Then you see Tony reach back to his pocket and adds a fifth bill, 5x20=100.]
Love Among the Ruins (series 1)
Home (series 2)
Carter starts the day kissing his co-worker. She gives him a love bite on the right side of his neck.Everyone makes some comment about the hickey. On the last half of the show, we now see Carter wearing a bandage, but it's now on the left side of his neck. [We never actually see Harper give Carter the hickey. When Benton tells him he has a hemotoma on his neck, it is on his left side. When Carter checks it out in the glass, it appears to be on his right. When he is trying to hide it from the doctor in the washroom, it again appears to be on his right - but it is on the left side of his neck.]
The Long Way Around (series 3)
When Carol is standing outside with Kerry, you can see that the wind changes direction between camera angles. Just watch Carol's hair and it becomes very noticeable. [Sometimes the wind changes directions all the time. Just last night I had to fight with my umbrella because the wind kept changing directions; the rain and my hair, was blowing all over the place.]
A Hole in the Heart (series 4)
Elizabeth says that she worked in the Bogside in Belfast (Northern Ireland). The Bogside is an area in Derry, some 75 miles away. Elizabeth would have known this. [Elizabeth does not say she worked in Bogside - she said she was working in Belfast when she attended a concert in Bogside - that would certainly be possible.]
Friendly Fire (series 4)
A woman is brought into the ER who they think has had a stroke. When Dr. Carter is showing the x-rays to Dr. Greene, he tells him the woman is 27 years old. Later in the episode, Dr. Greene rushes to talk to the surgeon and he tells him the woman is 25 years old. [This was a character mistake on Dr. Greene's part rather than a mistake by the writers.]
Great Expectations (series 6)
Carol delivers one of the twins and then receives an epidural. Epidurals are not given when the actual delivery is near, and certainly not between delivering twins. [Absolutely false; many doctors prefer setting up the epidural before multiple births to avoid complications and lawsuits, though it can be done later; the epidural - which slows contractions, may be given later in delivery. Also, after one twin is born naturally an epidural may be given - under the right set of circumstances, before an emergency C-section of the second twin. This is the case with Carol Hathaway, who was already 10 cm and ready to push with the first, when she arrived at the ER.]
Last Rites (series 6)
Dr Greene calls time of death of the teenage DNR at 20:34 (8:34pm), but the clock behind him shows the time is 10:34 which would be 22:34. [If you look close on this scene you can see that this is a sort of "special" clock that I have seen in hospitals. The hour hand takes twenty four hours to make a complete revolution. This makes just looking at the position of the hands a little confusing you need to look at the numbers and you can see that it was 20:34.]
On the Beach (series 8)
Where are Doug and Carol at the end? Doug was one of Mark's best friends and for him not to be there doesn't make any sense. [There could be a number of reasons why they aren't there. One of the twins (or both) could be sick, they might not have gotten time off work in such a short notice, there might be bad weather preventing them from being able to fly, they might be on vacation abroad, they might be sick, etc, etc, etc.]
The Letter (series 8)
In one of the last scenes, Dr. Lewis is shown leaving the ER, and putting a tack in the bottom of each page of "The Letter." However, at the very end of the episode, "The Letter" is shown blowing in the breeze, without any tacks holding the bottom of the pages down. [To begin with it was the night before when Dr. Lewis only tacked down two of the three pages, with just ONE pin each. Also, the space below was mostly empty except for a yellow and blue paper. Later the following afternoon, when we see three pages blowing, there is at least one additional posting and a fan is now directly blowing on the bulliten board. People stealing extra tacks for additional postings elsewhere on a bulliten board and loose pins being blown off happen all the time and can easily account for what happened over this long period of time.]

Abby diagnosis a 'piece of metal in his spleen' when treating Susan's husband who has just collapsed. She puts the ultrasound machine beside his right hip when the spleen is located behind the last rib on the left. Also metal would not show up on ultrasound. [Actually, since ultrasound scans are based upon the principle that high frequency soundwaves are reflected, metal shows up very well on an ultrasound. It would appear as bright white since it is dense and would reflect soundwaves very efficiently. Also, they can still use the machine even in that position. ]

In the episode "Midnight," at Abby and Neela's graduation, there are at least a hundred students graduating. How did they get from Lockhart to Rasgota in three names? [At my sister's recent graduation from nursing school students were allowed to sit in any order they chose, rather than alphabetical. As they walked on stage they gave a card to the announcer who read their name as they walked across stage.]
