The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005) - 36 mistakes

Continuity: When Andy and Trish argue in the bedroom, the bed is covered in action figure boxes. Between shots just as Andy leaves, a 'Dracula' action figure box disappears.

Continuity: When Andy and Trish are in bed for the first time, Trish removes her black top and throws it to the floor. In the next shot it reappears back on the bedcovers, then back on the floor again.

Continuity: When the drunk girl that Andy picks up at the bar throws up on him in the car, only a little hits his face. When they cut to a close-up, his head and face are drenched in pink vomit.

Visible crew/equipment: In the final sex scene, a crew member's foot is momentarily seen on the upper right side of the screen.

Deliberate "mistake": When Jay and Mooj are arguing over the commission from the sale that Mooj just made from the girl, between scenes Mooj's hair goes from parts of it standing up on his head to laying perfectly combed flat.

Continuity: On the 20th date, Trish and Andy are sitting on a chair discussing the date and that they are going to have sex. When Andy speaks, her right hand is on his top button. When Trish speaks, its back in her lap. This happens three or four times, all in the same conversation.

Continuity: When Andy and his friends are on the loading dock smashing the bulbs, there is a white mark from a smashed bulb on the dock next to Cal. But in the next shot the mark has vanished, and Cal smashes another bulb in the exact same place, producing the white mark again.

Continuity: When Andy and David interrupt Haziz's smoke break, Haziz opens the back door to the store, enters, and the door begins to close behind him. In the following shot, the door is still closing, but is open a little wider than a moment before.

Continuity: When Andy goes into Trish's eBay shop, and talks with her, the lamp which shines on Trish changes position between shots.

Continuity: The red plastic action figure that Trisha picks up and then places on the shelf changes position a few times as she talks with Andy, before she runs off.

Continuity: When Andy and Trish are on a date at the chinese restaurant, Andy starts to drink his Budda Punch, yet in the next shot, as the man askes the waitresses to sing happy birthday to his daughter, we can see the Budda Punch glass is suddenly back down on the table.

Continuity: During the scene where the guys are playing poker, the clasp on Jay's necklace keeps moving around. It can be seen down next to the cross pendant, up almost behind his neck, and various positions in between, moving randomly from shot to shot.

Continuity: During a conversation between Andy and Cal, the cord for Cal's name badge changes position. A few minutes later during a conversation between Andy and David, the cord for David's name badge shifts back and forth between two positions.

Continuity: In the scene where Andy is making waffles, he opens the waffle iron to take them out. In the next shot, the lid on the waffle iron is closed.

Continuity: In the scene where Seth Rogan says, "Is that the Six Million Dollar Man's boss?" and points to the Oscar Goldman doll, the doll in blue to the right of it doesn't have a hat on. In the scenes immediately before and after, it does.

Continuity: The leaflets, booklets, sheets of paper and books on the table keep changing position, during the talk session about sex.

Continuity: After the plastic model of the vagina breaks apart, Andy puts one piece of the model under his chin, so he is only holding three parts. In the next shot he's holding all four parts of the model again.

Continuity: Right as the drunk girl is about to puke on Andy, you see her facing forward, with her mouth opened, gagging. Then, in the next shot her mouth is suddenly closed and her head has started turning towards Andy.

Continuity: Before and after the dream sequence where he kicks the girl and gives her a bloody nose, the comforter he wakes up with is completely different from the one he went to sleep with, which matched his pillow exactly. When he wakes up, nothing matches the pillow.

Continuity: In the scene where Andy hits the pot hole and flips over his handle bars when the cut to the shot after he flips and is laying on the ground the back is gone when it should have landed at his legs from the way the went down.
