Factual error: In the scene that depicts the Smiths meeting each other, they are supposed to be in Bogota, Colombia. The tropical village they're in looks very little like Bogota, a gigantic metropolis with over 9 million inhabitants and very cold weather.

Deliberate mistake: When Brad Pitt is in his garage and cleans the spot on this collar, he should have turned the car's mirror to the left to see himself. Instead, he turns the mirror to the right so the camera can get a view of his collar.

Continuity mistake: While being chased by the 3 BMWs, the passenger's headrest of the Dodge minivan driven by Brad changes from a 1-piece (part of the seat), to a headrest that you can adjust the height and it keeps changing during the scene.

Factual error: When John and Jane are in the elevator at the end, they're both holding MP5A4 submachine guns. The charging handle on both of them are in the open and locked position, making firing of the weapon impossible.

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Jane is trying to run over John with her car, she jumps from the driver's seat while John is in the back of the car. Right before the car crashes through the fence, you see John through the back window. You also see a head in the driver's seat, even though no one is supposed to be driving the car.

Continuity mistake: After the botched hit in Mexico, Jane returns to her office, a little beaten up, and her associates tend to her wounds. Particularly clear is an injury to her right shoulder - it has bled enough to mark her singlet top, and is covered by a large piece of plaster. Yet when she dances with John in the restaurant, only a few hours later, there is no sign of plaster or wound.

Continuity mistake: When Jane and John Smith are fighting each other in their house, John Smith is left with several large scratches on his left cheek. Throughout the rest of the movie, his scratches change size, position and shape.

Factual error: During the highway chase scene, the cars crash through the barriers on the highway, but they are filled with water. In areas like New York these are filled with sand, because the water would freeze in the winter.

Continuity mistake: When John and Jane steal their neighbor's minivan (after their house explodes) and back out the driveway, an assassin jumps onto the back. John hits the brakes and the assassin falls off onto the ground beside the van. In the next shot it is implied that the van runs over the assassin (two bumps), but John has not turned the steering wheel.

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the movie when John and Jane are in the shed and taking off their suit coats, there is no slit or hole in John's right pant leg where, minutes before, it had been punctured by Jane's wayward knife.

Continuity mistake: During the car chase on the freeway, Jane forces one of the pursuing cars off the road by driving, with it, through those large barrels of water near freeway exits. Water cascades over the cars; one interior shot shows that it's virtually impossible to see through the windscreen. Yet in the next shot, a few seconds later, all the cars are completely dry.

Other mistake: After the Smith's house blows up both John and Jane's white shirt's are really really dirty but when they're driving in the stolen van their shirts are bleach white again except for the blood stains.

Continuity mistake: When Jane and John are fighting in their house, John runs by and knocks the teapot over. He fumbles with it then grabs it with the top facing him. In the next shot, the top is facing away from him, so that it may proceed to fall off.

Continuity mistake: After John races Jane home and goes in through the back, he breaks a pane of glass square with his elbow to unlock the door. About 1 second later, the break in the glass is different and no sound is heard of more glass falling off to change the shape.

Continuity mistake: When they are both fighting each other in their house Brad throws Angelina against a wall and you can see that she is a stunt double.

Disney-Freak

Continuity mistake: After Jane and John have finished destroying there own house. Jane goes to the fridge to get something to drink revealing one of Jolie's real tattoos on her arm that Jane does not have in any other shots.

Revealing mistake: When Jane catches the wine bottle that John drops, you can see her holding a second bottle in her hand before he drops his.

Suggested correction: You can assume that's how they filmed it, but nothing seen in that shot suggests that there were two bottles, since Jane's arm is never even in the frame before John drops the bottle.

Even watching in slow motion I couldn't see a 2nd bottle. In real life, catching the bottle wouldn't be that hard if you knew when it was going to be dropped. Maybe the people seeing two bottles are confusing the gap between Brad's legs as the bottle. And using 2 bottles doesn't even make sense. If Angelina couldn't catch it in real life, it would be way easier to do a jump cut than some cheap magic trick.

Bishop73

You can definitely see her holding a bottle. It is weird how it disappears but there is definitely an appearance that she is holding a bottle right before he drops it.

Jane: There's this huge space between us, and it just keeps filling up with all the things we don't say to each other. What's that called?
Counsellor: Marriage.

Question: How does Mrs. Smith get to know that her husband is the shooter?

Answer: She notices that he shakes his right leg twice after peeing, just like her husband.

Answer: It comes down to a deleted scene. And I remember it as clear as day from when I saw it at the cinemas. There is a scene where Jane is brushing her teeth at the basin. John walks into the large bathroom and begins to take a leak. As John finishes up, Jane looks over her shoulder at him, just in time to see him lift one leg and give it a couple of sharp shakes. Later in the movie, after the ailed assignment/shootout in the desert, Jane is watching the footage of the other assassin doing the very same memorable action. Right as she is in the middle of replaying it back a couple of times, John turns up at her building, and one of her agents who has answered the intercom says, "Jane, it's your husband." And that is when the penny drops! For some bizarre, unknown reason, they removed that very important key bathroom scene from every TV and DVD release, leaving people who did not see the theatrical release at the box office asking the question of how Jane realized it was her husband.

Answer: From the way he stands and moves, height, weight and general mannerisms.

Answer: They worked for different agencies and were unaware that they had been given the same target (Diaz?) to kill in the desert. Mrs Smith initially thought that Mr Smith was a civilian that just happened to interfere with her assignment. She was given 48 hours to identify and eliminate (kill) the "witness." While reviewing the videotape of the scene, all Mrs Smith could see was the back side of the "civilian." While still looking at him, a secretary or similar employee yelled from outside the room that Mrs Smith's husband was on the phone and was back from his trip to Atlanta. By the secretary saying, "It's your husband" during the time Mrs Smith was looking at his back side on the tape, plus the information that he was back from Atlanta, it became obvious to her... and she wondered how she could have been so stupid to not know before this time.
