Continuity mistake: In the bar gunfight scene (where Cheech is the barkeep), Banderas and the bookie from the back room end up on the bar with pistols pointed at each other. Banderas puts his weapon down, then two camera cuts later he puts it down again.
Continuity mistake: During the shootout at the Tarasco bar scene, there is a part where El Mariachi is shooting bad guys from the front of the bar. He switches from sitting to lying almost face down throughout the scene.
Continuity mistake: When El Mariachi breaks the guy's neck at the bar he stands up and his knee caps are full of white dust, then he finishes writing a note to Bucho his knee caps are clean.
El Mariachi: Carolina, did I thank you?
Carolina: No.
El Mariachi: I will.
Trivia: The American girl who is criticising the service in the Tarasco Bar (just before Quentin Tarantino walks in) is actually Robert Rodriguez's sister.
Question: I have two questions: 1) At the beginning of the movie, when Buscemi tells the story about the mariachi in this one bar in Saragossa, Tavo (the one Mexican that is later in the movie killed on the street by the mariachi) says something in Spanish, and all start laughing - does anybody know what he says? 2)When the mariachi prepares to go to the Tarasco-Bar, in his bathroom, what song is played?
