Labyrinth

Continuity mistake: In Goblin City, after the boulder positions itself on the edge of the wall, it falls on top of a talking gun/cannon, smashing it to smoldering bits, and it says, "Hey, no problem," in the close-up. In the next shot, as Sarah runs up the step to shout for Sir Didymus, the smoldering cannon bits on the ground are quite different. (01:26:05)

Continuity mistake: When Sarah reaches Jareth's throne room, before she says, "Oh no," there is a wide shot of the room. When she says, "That's the only way he ..." things in the room have changed position. (01:26:40)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When all of Sarah's friends from the Labyrinth fill her room, you can see that one of the Chilly's is on top of Sarah's canopy on her bed. In a wide shot the Chilly is hanging his head off of the canopy, but in the next closeup shot of him laughing his head is no longer hanging off it and is upright. (01:31:50)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When Didymus says "I say, does anyone want to play a game of scrabble" he has a staff in his right hand, and is holding it down by the side of Sarah's bed, but in the next shot he is holding the staff upright on top of Sarah's bed. (01:32:15)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When everyone from the labyrinth fills Sarah's room, Didymus says "I say, does anyone want to play a game of scrabble" and he has a party hat pulled well over his head. but in the next shot the party hat isn't pulled over his head, but is sitting on top of his hat, which allows the shot of it falling off of his head. (01:32:15)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When Sarah is finally back in her room, she sees Ludo, Sir Didymus and Hoggle in the reflection of her vanity mirror. Her white dress that lies on her bed changes position when seen on the real bed, the close-ups in the reflection and the semi close-ups in the reflection. (01:35:00)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: When Sarah first meets the Goblin King, she has on Camel colored semi-formal flat shoes, but when she starts the labyrinth, her shoes have changed to brown suede loafers. She didn't change her shoes beforehand.

Continuity mistake: During the battle in the Goblin City, a Walking Cannon fires a shot at one of the rocks. When the rock shatters, the roof behind it and a jar at the right edge of the screen suddenly shift their positions - slightly but visibly.

Continuity mistake: When Hoggle is taking Sarah out of the oubliette, the lamp he lit goes out quickly just as they exit; yet in the shot of Sarah immediately after she comes out of the doorway, we can see behind Sarah into the oubliette and the lamp is still lit.

Continuity mistake: When Sir Didymus threatens Ambrosius with no food to stop his retreat, as the dog walks back into the shot you can see the gray and white mixture on his head. In the close up, the dog's head is all white.

Continuity mistake: The two-headed axe the gate guardian grabs wasn't there when the gate closed.

Continuity mistake: As Ambrosius goes to cross the rocks, he switches from having gray and white on his head to all white, then back.

Continuity mistake: As Ludo pops up in the tower of the house in Goblin City, the roof goes over behind him and stops as if on a hinge. A moment later as he calls the rocks, the roof is missing.

Continuity mistake: When Sarah and her stepmother are arguing at the start of the film, Sarah's hair is completely soaked from the rainstorm, but a few minutes later, when she's at her vanity table and her dad is talking to her, her hair is completely dry, and there's no way she could have dried it that quickly, even if she used a hairdryer.

Continuity mistake: When Sarah kisses Hoggle, they fall through a hole and end up in the Bog of Eternal Stench. They walk the narrow cliff for a while and then Sarah falls onto solid ground and finds Luto right there next to her. Then Hoggle falls. Somehow, without Luto moving, Hoggle ends up under Luto. Luto never sits down. He is pushed to the ground when Hoggle falls on top of him. His butt is on the floor before Hoggle lands.

Visible crew/equipment: Jareth says, "Sarah, don't defy me," and tosses the snake at her neck. In the next shot facing Sarah as she holds the snake, a crew member's hand is seen holding the end of the 'snake' below her right shoulder. (00:13:25)

Question: This has always confused me. In the scene with the guards, which one always lies and the other always speaks the truth, Sarah asks which door leads to the castle gate then she figures out the riddle and chooses a door. However, the door she chooses, the supposedly correct choice, doesn't lead her to the entrance instead it's a trap. So did she choose the wrong door, or just the wrong direction for the hands to take her?

Answer: To add to that, the other door was supposed to lead her to certain death, and technically the oubliette wasn't exactly certain death.

Answer: She did choose the right door...if she had chosen up, she would have very likely come out at the castle, but she chose down.

If you pay attention down was also the correct answer. The Goblin king was angry when he discovered she was down there "She never should have made it this far" or something similar upon finding this out. Had she chosen up she would have ended up back at the beginning.

Answer: Sarah did indeed select the right door and did ask a sensible, albeit confusing question. The reason she fell into the oubliette (and the helping hands) is because as she walked through the door she said "I think I'm getting smarter. This is a piece of cake" - saying "piece of cake" within the Labyrinth to say how easy something is brings bad luck upon those who say it. Sarah said it to Jareth and he upped the stakes (reducing her time). Hoggle said it later (in Goblin City) and then they got surrounded by Goblins.
